It does not occure every time i cough, however if i cough too hard sometimes i will get a sharp pain on the left side near my anus. Its been occuring for awhile but its never been constant. any advice would be helpful!

Dear, pain and discomfort in that area can be due to many reasons, the top among is the prostate problem or an inguinal hernia. Just cough and feel the appearance of any lump in your groin area. You also need to visit the urologist. He/she will help you properly regarding it. Tom
