Well, I've been on the pill for about 2 weeks now. I started it last month on feb. 26th on the day my period started. My period lasted for 10 days, usually it goes from 7 to 8 regulary. I might be having sex for the first time this month, but I am wondering if it's safe to do it or should I postpone it and wait until after the month so that my body gets use to the pills. My partner and I really want to be safe about this as best we can. (I also have plan B, should I take that after I have sex if I do even while I'm on the birth control?)

Also, on a last note if I was to have sex should I take the pill before I do it or take it after?

Thanks to everyone for taking their time to help. It's much appreciated.

I would say if you had sex now you would be protected.
I was always told that you had to complete a full month of the pill before you were safe, but i see here that a few weeks will suffice.

I don't think plan B will be necessary, but i give you hugh kudos for thinking this out as well as you have. To be on the safest side, maybe bf can use a condom for a while, at least until you are secure with protection from the pill.
Actually, a condom should really be used unless you have known this person for a long time.

If you take your bc the same time every single day, say 8 a.m., it doesn't matter if you take it before or after sex.
If you don't take your scheduled pill until midnite each night, it wouldn't matter if you had sex an hour before, you would take it at midnite.
