A 51 year old acquaintance is unable to normally empathasize with others (including her children), has been unable to hold a job for more than a few months, and has very few friends (really just me). She has just abruptly moved out on her husband of 25 years to live on her own with no social support and marginal financial ability. Could she have simple schizophrenia?
