I am a jogger for nearly 2 decades and in fact i joined a team which was acting on some medical supervision to reduce the heart rate by doing aerobic excercise at 65 to 80 % of maximum heart rate. Now my HR is at an average of 44 and at night it goes down to 32 ( found out by holter test ). I am being monitored in the run upto fitment of Pace maker which was decided against 3 years ago as my EF ratio was 71% . Meanwhile during the last Holter test, I notice that the max HR 154 (against the one 149 - arrived at by deducting 71 from 220) is reached within 10 minutes of my fast walking and then it never reached that though subsequently I ran faster (at 9 kmph) for 4 minutes and the HR never reached 154 and was in the range of 140 to 145.

Meanwhile I suffer from sniusitis since childhood and the ENT surgeon advised for a surgery some years back but he himself said " if you lived with this for these many years - 68 then -why now? My query now is -- does the nasal constriction relates to reduced oxygen intake and in order to meet the increasing demand for oxygen thru the restricted passage, my heart is pumping faster. Is the nasal passage getting expanded while excercising and is that the reason the HR rises faster in the beginning and then comes down even with greater intensity? pl. advise

I agree with you 100%.
Normally my BP read about 130/86. Docs tried putting me on BP meds but I refused. I began taking L-Arginine and my BP dropped to 120/76. After sinus infection my BP went up to 150/110, but I started back on my L-Arginine and it really helps.
*cheap fix*
L-Arginie in walmart is only $3.99 for.500mg but I order the 1000mg from ebay. BIG HELP!
Hope this helps!

Sinus problems can cause high BP, this happens to me a lot. My remedy is to rinse your Sinus daily using a solution with the correct saline balance, sold in drug stores everywhere.

True, sinus infection and the clogging itself raise bp, so give remedy to clogging not to taking of bp meds.

I have severe sinus problems and I go to the doctor when it is bad. They take my blood pressure which spikes. It only spikes when I am ill with inflammation of sinus and lymph glands. I wondered if there is a link to sinus. Now I know there is I will go again for BP when sinus fine. They need to cure sinus not stress me out over abnormal BP which was actually so low for two weeks I passed out and had bad nose bleed.

I'm thankful I read this, I was ready to pick out my plot at the cemetery. I've never had high blood pressure, a little here & there, overall pretty good. Now, I have the worst right ear infection and sore throat. I hate, and my BP was high yesterday (156/96). I couldn't believe it. I'm calling the doc for an appointment for a physical and the infection thing, I'd rather have my big toe nail pulled out with tweezers. I hate going to the doctor and I have really good insurance, I just hate it. I had a few bad experiences and lost all faith in doctors, it is difficult to find a doctor who cares and doesn't take on so many patients he/she can't care for you. They allow 15 minutes for an appointment and have sketchy, inaccurate notes made by PA's who are busier than the doctor ever thought about being. The PA doesn't know what the doctor thinks or puts on the chart because they only look at the headliner of the notes, that's all the time they can give you. However, the office staff has been well trained in "get that money" bar none. Sorry, I'm a bitter woman. I didn't mean to get into all that, maybe someone should hear it and get the conversation going. Best of luck to all.

My husband's pulse rate fluctuates, is it because of stress or? In his job, he has to face night duty twice a week, so is this the reason? He has normal blood pressure and no other major health problems.

I was congested for years and recently got allergy testing and started allergy shots. It definitely helped.
