Hello,
I need information on skin cancer. What causes it? Is it hereditary? What are most frequent risk factors?
Thanks in advance!

Hey there,
SUN causes skin cancer. Skin cancer is most widely spread cancer in western world. If you want to look nicely sunburned, watch out, cos you might pay a high price! Yes, is hereditary, in a sense if there is a person with skin cancer in your family, you have higher potential of getting it. Besides, if you are blue eyed and have very fair skin, also. So, main cause for skin cancer is exposure to intense UV light of sunshine, which is particularly common in places with strong sun (Australia). Skin cancer is also less common with people with dark skin.
There are also some factors that increase the risk for skin cancer. These factors are family history of skin cancer, skin with lots of moles, freckles, fair skin and blue eyes, skin that burns easily, exposure to strong sun. I guess it is not necessary to mention that sun today is very, very strong and we should be wearing UV protection not only on the beach, but also during other activities. Especially, do not be exposed to sun between 12 and 16 o’clock! Only 10 minutes in that period could cause sun burns!
