I am just wondering why I see so many problems following gallbladder surgery. About a week after I had my gallbladder out I experienced severe pain in my right side. I developed an infection where the gallbladder was taken out. Dr. put me on an anti-biotic to no avail. Got worse. Went into Hospital, admitted, and put on strong anti-biotics from an IV. A drain tube was put in my right side. Shots in the stomach every 8 hours. Had a touch of pneumonia in my right lung. They inserted a tube in my back to drain out fluid from my right lung.. In the Hospital 5 days. Am home now, still with the drain tube in, that has to be back flushed 2x a day. Am due to the Dr. in a day or so. Hopefully will get the drain tube out of my right side. I just don't understand why there are so many problems that I have read here. What is going on ? ?

It sounds pretty straightforward to me what is happening to you, although it is unfortunate. It sounds like you have gotten an infection from surgery which can happen from time to time, and now they are trying to get rid of it. It sounds like it was a pretty serious infection so I hope that you are okay. In the meantime, I hope your doctor keeps you in the loop about what is happening with your health.

Please let us know how things turn out.
