I live in the UK and in feb I had an std test with the nhs. Both my boyfriend and I had one. We were told that if infections or problems were presents we would here within 2 weeks, if there were no problems then we wouldn't hear anything at all, they wouldn't contact us. Well neither of us ever heard anything.

Now, my boyfriend has got symptoms of slight burning when peeing and abdominal pain. The doctor has told him to go for another std test. And now I am really worried.

Also I had the same thing, a few weeks ago, but my doctor told me it was a urine infection, and he gave me antibiotics for that, and I am a lot better now.

How likely is it that the test missed an infection, or even the results were lost.

Do you think his doctor has just told him to go for a test so that he can rule that out before giving him drugs for something else, which of course affects your test.

I am annoyed cos the reason we went in the first place was peice of mind, and now I feel more worried than before, and I'm convincing myself I have everything under the sun! My boyfriend keeps telling me its fine, we both had a test and they wouldnt screw two test results up, but i'm still worried!

from the sound of it i think you have passed on your urine infection to your b/f, if neither of you heard anything from your STD results then that would mean everything was fine.

i dont mean to be rude or anything, but if he has an std test done now and he has an std then you have to face the possibility that he has cheated on you, and you will have to have std checks again.

from what you have said though, i doubt that is the case, and i'm sorry if i made you shout at your computer and call me names for saying it! it is always a posibility though! it does just sound simply like he has caught your urine infection.

yes, I don't think he has to be honest. Of course I will see when he gets his results but I am not really worried about that. But I cannot blame you for suggesting it.

I am just worried, i am a natural worrier....why would the doctor send him for another one if he didn't think there was a posibilty of him having one. I mean I suppose doctors see young men very often who lie and say they haven't cheated when they have, so perhaps he just wants to eliminate it before he starts treating him for something else.

If anything this has made me think I have OCD cos of the amount I am obseesing over it lol!!!!

I had urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea 11 days ago. Would they know the results by now? Would I have heard by now if it was positive?
