I have the same symptoms. Started a few weeks ago. I just came home after cancer surgery and having my prostate removed. Now everytime I shower and hot water warms my body, my hands become very sticky. Almost like my skin is oozes fat. The feeling is like you just mixed ground meat to make a meatloaf. Soooooo... what's the cause...?

I have the same symptoms. It's called "acquired cutaneous adherence" and you can find it mentioned a few places on the internet. It seems to be very rare. I haven't even found a doctor who knows what to do about it, or even who knows about it. I wonder if it'll ever go away. Yes, it's uncomfortable and even worse, scary. :'(

Haha, I think I might know what's causing this, and it's really simple. Your skin has a natural oil barrier that keeps it supple and protects it. Soap breaks down oil, the same as it does with grease on dishes so it does to the oil on your skin. Oil is a lubricant, which is why when you rub your hands together, they don't stick. When you remove that oil, your skin has a higher coefficient of friction until your body can replace that oil barrier, causing places where skin hits skin, especially warm wet skin, to "stick" instead of to "slide". Imagine the difference between rubbing two pieces of velcro together versus rubbing two pieces of felt together. Talc would help, because it's a lubricant as well, (a "dry" lubricant, like graphite) but try a body butter or something to help replace your skin's natural oils. Also, try using a softer soap, or less soap. As a side note: if you constantly wash way your skin's natural oils it will respond by overproducing oil after every time you wash (that's why you shouldn't wash your hair everyday, to prevent greasy hair and a greasy face), which causes you to use more soap, which leads to a nasty cycle. And side affects like acne.

Hope this helps! :)

I had a horrible sticky skin problem for over 11 months. Had no idea how on earth it started. Also my skin was prickly and crawly - felt like I was invaded by something alien or parasitic. Tried so many herbal products from my Herbalist but nothing seemed to work to end this sticky, prickly and crawling sensation on my skin. Then one day, after a lot eliminating certain food stuffs from my diet, I decided to completely eliminate all dairy products from my diet - milk, butter, yoghurt made with cows milk etc. and, low and behold my, the sticky skin etc just went. I was left with a thumping headache, very achy neck and my head completely bunged up with catarrh. I was coughing up throughout the day and night so was obviously clearing my system. I can honestly say that since eliminating all dairy products from my diet I can at last say that I have so, so much relief and my skin in more or less back to normal. Just pray that it stays this way as was becoming paranoid and so depressed. Try doing this and see if it helps - you have nothing to loose.

I too have a damp scrotum that does not cause any discomfort, it started about eight months ago. I had prostate cancer in 2003 and I chose radiation treatment with 76 radioactive seed implants, the seeds remained active for 9 months and after 5 years I was declared cancer free, my PSA has remained at 0.09  since with no problems what so ever. My Physician put me on Flomax (Two blue caps a day) however about six months ago my insurance switched to another source for the Flomax, the dose remained the same but the color of the cap's changed, and after I had been on the new cap's about two months my scrotum became moist, I have not yet discussed this with my physician but I will after reading so many post's by men with similar problems.

I've had sticky skin syndrome for three years, seen several dermatologists, and checked all the websites. Nothing. Like you, I thought maybe I was washing something off the skin so I tried eliminated soap. I haven't used soap in the shower for two months and wash my hair only once/month. Pretty drastic, huh. I do use soap on my hands in the kitchen. There has been no change, at least not yet.

I have the same problem - caused by the bad well water I use - if I wash with rain water, problem disappears - must be related to the Ph of the water
