Yes I get it too. I had it last Christmas, and I got punched in the stomach by a friend today I’m a joking way, and I sometimes randomly get pain in my spleen.

Female,27, mono at16, chronic mono
Wow! This sounds a lot like my case! I didn't have respiratory issues but I did have jaundice, and liver and spleen swelling by the time my mono was finally diagnosed(1yr after I started feeling symptoms). Also my neck got very swollen and painful..anyone else experience that? It took a full year to not feel exhausted to my bones. One thing that helped me to recover was to keep a very close watch on how certain foods made me feel(keep a food journal so you can track effects several days out). I discovered several food items(that I ate on a regular basis) that cause my liver and spleen to "pang". Sugary items especially cause my them to start hurting and rare red meat(I only do grass fed) makes them feel better. Really super weird I know...I also take a product called Cellgevity that made a noticeable difference in my energy levels. I no longer have any pain since I avoid what are, for me, trigger foods. But do occasionally feel that weird sensation of the swollen edge of my spleen"popping" across the edge of my ribcage when I over-do the cardio. Other than that I lead a normal energetic life.

Having this same issue! I think my friends and family think I am crazy. I had 2 ultrasounds and blood tests because it feels like my left side (spleen) is swollen. i had mono about 4 months ago and i felt better after about a month ,but then I started returning to everything I did before (which is kind of a lot as a college student) and staying up and having a drink or 2 and I fell back to being completely exhausted and feeling like my left side is swollen. I get really sad because I love working out and its hard because all of my friends are newly 21 and want to go out and its hard for me to even stay up that late! I have had 3 weeks off from school fro break, after christmas and finals i was completely exhausted, and slept all day for a few days. Really hoping that the next few months will bring me good health ,but good to know other people have the same issue.

It's going on over a year since I contracted Mono. I'm 37 and it seems like the symptoms are easing off. I no longer have enlarge or swollen liver, however I do feel my spleen and get pain from my spleen here and there. I do go to the gym but I do not lift heavy weights like no squatting, no bench press, I just use the machines. Also, most importantly do not train your abs. I noticed whenever I did abs my spleen would enlarge dramatically.
I also get fatigue here and there so I try to restrain myself from being too active. The key to maintaining is a healthy lifestyle which means keep your food portions small until you no longer feel your spleen pressing against your stomach.
In addition, to my spleen I do get numbness that radiates up towards my shoulder blade which is very annoying. My advice to everyone that is reading these replies is to keep your head up high and be positive. Be thankful, you're alive and able to wake up everyday. Remember! there are other people with worse conditions.

Literally same situation was 17 missed last 3 months of high school. Almost didn't graduate even. Had to change whole senior project due to it being for phlebotomy. And I could no longer job shadow. I pretty much lost my job because I worked at a nursing home facility and was not allowed near residents and then couldn't go to college right away for phlebotomy as I had wanted to because I was still bad.. it was horrible. Pretty much ruined my whole life honestly.

I got mono my senior year of highschool at 17, I could not manage to stay awake for more than 15 minutes at a time for a full 6 months, nobody else from highschool had it nearly as bad as I got it, Now 20 and still having occasional pain in my spleen, glad to know it is semi regular for that to happen.
