We'll I just got over it myself. I started the throw up and other fun stuff around 8pm. I was up all night, I was so miserable. It is now 645am and I think I'm done puking my guts out. My dad is in the medical field so I can pass on what he told me. Your electro lights are off balance. Don't eat anything greasy. He actually gave me a red bull and it helped raise everything.. Your body needs at least 24 hours to recover from this. Eat small meals thru out the day. Drink water and even gaterade. Try not to move much either. Stay still and allow your body to recover

Elle I totally get it. I had stomach flu in late Febraury 2014, the flu inself lasted about a week. Its now late May 2014 and I still get nauseous off/on. I have to avoid restaurants now because something about them (smells I guess) make me nauseous. I have taken ginger root capsules which does help a little to settle the stomach and its natural so no side effects from it. Good to know I am not alone in this.

The cure was a week of an antibiotic called "Rifaxamin" aka "Xifaxan" which has since become a standard for treatment of SIBO. I was also given another low-dose antibiotic (ererhromycin) for its secondary pro-kinetic effects. It took a little time for my motility to recover but it got me back to 100% after many months of mus-diagnoses and suffering. It's not anxiety, there is a physical root to the problem and it's tied to motility. Do some research and see a GI-motility specialist, general practitioners are utterly clueless about this since it's all relatively new medical science.
The downside is we're all at risk to develop these problems again anytime we get food poisoning and will need to repeat treatment (Rifaxamin isn't cheap). That's where I'm at now... But it's not as bad as the first time when I didn't understand why I was suffering-- I'm on a low FODMAP diet to relieve symptoms and I have an appointment scheduled.
Feel better guys! With a little work you'll all get back to normal.

I had this same problem! FOR SEVEN YEARS! I took all kinds of tests, tested positive for hpylori, got addicted to prylosec, got diagnosed as having IBD, scheduled a colonoscopy, drank the weird chemical drink to clear my intestines, took the test, tests all came back clear... And guess what... the chemical drink CURED MY SYMPTOMS (same symptoms you are having).
So, flash forward a year later, after a year of perfect health, and I get the stomach flu. Aaaaaaaaaaand all my issues come back. That feeling of food in your stomach that won't digest is the worst! Anyways, after a week of being back in the sick, I found a comment online saying a guy ate garlic. I tried it. I was awake for an hour, chewed half a clove on an empty stomach, a little water... Felt INSTANTLY better. ...then after a minute the stomach burns just a little bit. The next day: Better.
AMAZING!!!
