Hello, I've been on Suboxone for 4 years and I've been on every dose from high to low, I'm taking 4mg at the moment. I've struggled with the shortness of breath for the last 2 years. At that same time I was put on Adderall for ADHD/OCD. The Adderall helped a lot as I think that's why I got so addicted to opiates because they helped me focus. That and the fact that my Dr at the time, Dr. Payne (no I'm not joking) told me I couldn't be a good wife and mother without them. I have scoliosis that was diagnosed as a child but my own self centered, addicted mother never took me to the dr. but I digress, when a prescription of anti-inflammatory meds or steroids would have done the trick, I was given 120 Norco 10s. The entire town I lived in got the same. That my friends is why I'm on Suboxone. Anyway, the suboxone saved me I will admit, the breathing problems are about to drive me insane. My quality of life is sad. I can't speak a full sentence without gasping for air. At first I thought it was the naloxone in the medicine. Now I'm wondering if it's the half life. I do split my dose up throughout the day and I'm wondering if the inconsistencies in the half life build up in my system is causing the problem. I hope this makes sense to someone out there, I'm at my wits end. I'm trying to get off of subs completely but I get down to 2 MG and I struggle. When I researched I found out the half life of subs is long, thats what brought me to this conclusion but then again I am grasping at straws.

Strange, how two people taking the same drug for the same amount of time. Can have a entirely different experience.
After five yrs I've decided to begin the taper off course.
This is when I discovered my breathing problem. Just the opposite of yours. The less sub I take. The harder it is to breathe.
Having said that. Mind you I am a smoker. One pack a day.
I am sure this is part of the problem. But, not entirely the whole problem. I do have a appointment next week with my doctor
I intend to get x Ray's and have doctor give me a full exam.
I will come back here to report.
For now. All I know is if I take a larger dose. I can breathe.

I have been taking Suboxone for 3 years (actually on and off for 5). I have had shortness of breath and it scares the heck out of me every time. It's inconsistent though. Most of the time I'm fine, but once in a while I have shortness of breath. I asked people at my Doctors office on Monday and nobody else seemed to have this symtom but me. It's scary because I smoke a pack of cigarettes, 2 packs on Friday and Saturdays because I work more hours. This time I have a cold too and the shortness of breath has been bothering me this morning and last night too. I'm worried that this is how I'm going out and that it'll be too late for a response from the ems Team. I need some kind of respirator nearby just in case I have breathing problems like today and yesterday.

I too have been using Suboxone for almost 3 yrs for arthritis related back pain .
I too had been having the shortness of breath. The feeling is, when am I going to get enough air.
I did what a lot of others have done with respect to going to see a Respiratory specialist . He said tests we good and referred me to Heart Specialist , again I did test for Dr. and he said perfect health . I had told the Dr. that when I used to do welding for my profession sometimes I used to stand on my head to vacate any inert gasses from my lungs as a result of welding , that it would help with breathing
and that is what I did when I had the feelings of lack of air from Suboxone and it would help. I told the Dr. that because I did the standing on my head and breathed
for about 5 min. it wasn't bothering me. But I had set up appts. and Drs. suggested that I go ahead and do the tests to rule out any lung or heart problems.
The tests I did were for asbestosis for lungs and nuclear heart resonance for Heart.
Well that is my story and what I feel may have helped me.

Yes I have the same issue. I take 4mg daily. I started at 8mg. I have shortness of breath during activities, and even walking up stairs. I literally have to stop walking. My heart beats really fast at times. I’ve been to the hospital a ton of times and two Cardiologists who all said my heart was fine. These problems didn't happen until on took Suboxone. I stopped for 8 days once but it didn’t go away. I’m hoping that once I stop for good I’ll eventually go back to my normal self. I’m 34 yrs old, there's no reason why I should have these problems.

Breathing technique
Jumping jacks/jumping up and down quickly. "dont let heels of feet touch ground.
Stop when your calf's feel worked out
Worked for me.
Anything that has to do with cardio.
I also prayed.
