Hi Laura I have just finished my period and the itch is back with a swollen clitoris. I have decided to try natural methods and surprisingly it is working for the itch. I used... aloe vera! the gel part, I know I'll need an insert to clear up anything else.

I have the same syptoms and I've been doing a little research. This what I found, but there is no cure or reasons why this happens.

Not sure of your age or if you've noticed any whitening of the skin, but I was recently diagnosed with lichen sclerosis, which is not a common condition, nor was it recognized until I saw a gynecologist and a biopsy confirmed the problem. Early treatment is a must for this condition. Be sure to ask your doc. I'm using a steroid ointment. Progressively relieving symptoms but not better yet. I sympathize. This is the pits. Good luck!

About a week ago I started having problems with what I thought was my clitoris at first. I had this horrible stabbing, itchy feeling that kept me up and nearly drove me crazy. The area around my clitoris felt stiff and sore, and I was sure I had a deep, dangerous infection but I couldn't afford to visit a doctor. When I took baths I used warm water to keep the area clean, then dried it, but it only helped a tiny bit with the pain. Using a mirror, I finally noticed that the hood of my clitoris looked white tipped, almost like a boil. Luckily it was just the hood (feeling with my fingers, as painful as it was, made it feel like the clitoris itself was swollen, but it was the hood thank goodness). Anyways, if this sounds like you (stabby, itchy pain in the clitoris that feels a bit better when you massage just around it) then you might try what I tried yesterday: Basically, what I did before bed was clean the area with warm water, dry it and then take a slice of yellow/white onion and a single clove of garlic. I took a soft tissue, put it on the table, and crushed the onion on top of it with a spoon, getting out the juice and letting the tissue soak it up. Then I did the same thing with the garlic. Then I gently dabbed the hood with the napkin and went to watch TV (it was around 9 ish). In just under an hour the pain went away completely and when I checked on it the hood was starting to drain. The pain and swolleness around the area such as the inner lips of my vagina felt relief immediately. What I thought was a severe, deepset infection was the stress of my skin stretching over the fluid that desperately needed to drain. It's been a little less than 24 hours since and I feel no pain. I am just keeping the area clean and dry. I have no idea what happened or why, but if this sounds like you and you don't want to visit a doctor, give it a try! I hope it helps.

i'm going through the same thing. I'm 17, im on the depo shot for birth control. Due to the depo shot I don't get any lubrication and my vagina is ALWAYS dry as a bone. any type of sexual activity i need a good amount of lube. my clit just recently became very swollen, itchy, and even dryer then usual. the area around my vagina has now developed bumps and is itchy as well. I haven't had sex in 3 years so i know it's not an STD, although I have kissed other people. im f*****g freaking out. im forcing my mother to bring me to the doctors today.

If it's burning to pee then you might have a urinary tract infection which can be cleared up with medication. A lot of people drink cranberry juice to help also but my daughter gets this and found the cranberry juice is only good for a short period of time before she needs medications
