Is it possible to have swollen glands in the vagina? My boyfriend noticed some bumps inside my vagina a few days ago and when I looked and felt them, they looked like swollen cysts. They don’t cause any bad side effects, they don’t itch or hurt and I wouldn’t even know that were present if my boyfriend hadn’t found them. What could they be if not vaginal cysts? Thanks for any useful information

These could be vaginal cysts. There are different types and they may differ in size. There are vaginal inclusion cysts that usually form when the vaginal skin doesn’t heal after gynaecological exam or some kind of trauma and Gartner's duct cysts that may form on vaginal side walls. A vaginal cyst could also be a tumour, which is rare and I would rule that out considering you said you had a few. It would be best if you had these bumps checked. Depending on their size, they could be some kind of an STD, so seeing a doctor would be good in order to get appropriate treatment. Vaginal cysts are usually just observed.
