This happened to me last year i had a spot on my cubids bow and then my entrie upper lip swellled up, i went to the walk in clinic and the doctor gave me some anti bacterial cream and the swelling went down. its happened again this year roughly a year later and ive just managed to pop the spot but my lip has swelled up anyway.... my doctor said its more likely to worse in a morning because when your laid down the gravity forces the bacteria into your lip causing it to swell...

Try crushing a tablet of asprin and mixing it with some water to create a paste and apply to the swollen lip! This will definitely help with the inflammation.

I had a zit right under my nose on my upper lip. I tried to pop it but nothing happened. Right after I tried popping it I noticed my lip was starting to swell up. I went to bed thinking it would get better but in the morning, it was even worse. My lip was about three times the size it usually is, I started freaking out and went to tell my mom. She told me to ice it and I took some advil and the swelling has gone down a lot but not all the way.

I have a pimple right under my lip and woke up from a nap with my bottom lip completely swollen. I then went to the Dr. and he told me it was an infection due to the pimple. So he gave me 2 antibiotic and i currrent have this for about 2 and a half days. If anything, its gotten worse.

I've had the same problem, lip became swollen and then it reached the surface as a white head. I popped it and most of the puss came out but for two weeks now its remained red and unsightly. It looks as though there is more puss in the same pore but I'm nervous to pop it. Any suggestions to relieve the redness for good?

I had the same thing and I got this stuff by clearasil. It's called a clearasil pimple blocker pen. You put it on the zit when it's first showing up. I did this when I felt like I was getting one on my lip and even though it's not gone yet it isn't as big as it was last time I had the problem and it's also not swollen. I'm sure it'll be gone tomorrow. Also for the swelling you can take salt water and soak your lip in it for a little bit. Try not to pop it though incase their is a chance it could be a cold site because then the bacteria will spread. Try not to mess with the zit and touch it. Because then it will just get more swollen.

I had this same issue just today. I had a pimple just above my lip and I tried popping it yesterday, but it mainly just scabbed over. When I woke up this morning, and half of my top lip under the pimple was swollen about 2x its normal size and was numb. I asked my aunt who is knowledgeable about all things medical, and told me to take a few aspirin to help with the inflammation and to put Neosporin on the pimple. The swelling is already not completely gone but it definitely is not as noticeable as this morning. For only a few hours, I'd say that's really cool!
For anyone else with this problem, don't freak out! Just take some Advil and dab on some Neosporin and you'll be fine!

My older sister (and now myself) have had zits show up that seem to last weeks on end, red, swollen, looks like herpes. She went to the dermatologist and he said it was an in-grown pimple; he injected it with cortizone and after a day it was gone entirely. I see the same dermatologist tomorrow, I'm hoping this is all it is.

I have a similar problem. Mine started out as an innocent looking bump below my nose about a month ago and yesterday, it became red, inflamed, and painful. I had popped it and pus did come out, but now I'm left with it burning like bloody hell and one side of my lip swollen. It looks SO nasty, I don't even want to go out in public.

If you are going to be smoking weed you will be lucky if a cold sore is all you get. You have no idea where that weed originated from, who had had their hands on it since, or what has been added to it. I have a friend who's son smoked weed that was laced with fiberglass and he was in the hospital for weeks. The docs had seen it many times before. And you are scared of a cold sore? LOL!

my swollen lip lasted for a few days, eventually drained and after a culture was done. it was mrsa. this is apparently no joke. first thing i would recommend is getting to an urgent care, getting on some antibiotics and having some lab work done.

It's a staph infection! I have it too and now I can barely open one side of my mouth. The doctor put me on these pills made of "Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium". I just read that off the bottle. It hurts. Don't let it go for too long. This is my second infection. My step mom thought it was herpes at first too, but it isn't.
