I recently had sex w/o a condom with a women. I now think she might have had a yeast infection (Don't want Herpes). My problem is itchning/slight burning on tip of penis, testicles and buttock. No sores & no bumps. I feel with my own research of the internet its a yeast infection. I'm waiting on my STD results but I'm going back to the doctors to get checked for a yeast infection. If you do have a yeast infection you will want to cut sugar and refined flour out of your diet. Yeast loves sugar... Some items that can help you are Tea tree oil, oil of oregano, applecider vinegar, garlic, yogurt, virgin coconut oil and drinking lots of water it will help you flush out sugars from your body. Search the web.

sounds like you all have herpes, get tested! you can have itching, burning, soreness, redness and not have any blisters and these are all symptoms of herpes. 1 in 4 adults have herpes and up to 90% of them do not know they even have it. Unless you have blisters most doctors DO NOT order a herpes screening on STD tests, they skip it, they tell you that you are clean but they did not draw blood and have it tested for the herpes antibodies with the Western blot test, which is the most accurate test to determine if you have herpes or not. They do not screen for it at all unless you come in with blisters! And most adults who have herpes and not know it never show any signs of blisters! Stupid doctors! They are just as much the cause of the epidemic that affects 1 in 4 people as people not being careful. If they would screen for it on every STD test, a lot more people would know they have it and be more cautious about passing it on!

it's not herpes... to the Guest who posted on 9/03/08 at 12:19. I have the same symptoms yet my dr. did the antibody screen for HSV 1 and 2.

I still have this issue. I have been tested for HSV 1 and 2 as well as the other std's. I also had urine cultures done a few times. Its been 2 years with this and it really sucks. I thought I was better for some time but the symptoms always come back. I have had many courses of antibiotics but no permanent relief. The only thing I'm left with thinking is some sort of hpv infection or possibly prostitis. Some of my symptoms do coincide with prostitis such as the burning, some pain in the perineum (which I thought was a hemmrhoid), jelly-like substance in the urine (kinda looks like tapioca at times), and occasional lower back pain around the kidney area. I am going to schedule an appointment to get it checked out again and hopefully get some help. Anyone else got some insight?

Hey guys,
Just noticed some similar symptoms myself, albeit far milder. One suggestion I'll throw out (I'm not sure if it was brought up earlier?) is going to see a homeopath. I went to one a few months ago to treat some other issues, and it turned out to be a success. The homeopath mentioned he deals with issues like Candida/Yeast infections, and a whole variety of pains brought on by muscle tension and anxiety. One of the interesting things I found out was how interconnected things are, i.e.: I've heard some of you talk about your kidneys and other areas of your body being sore, and so the problem may be far more interconnected than you think. Anyways if you haven't given it a shot, it couldn't hurt, and they often come up with far different diagnoses' than conventional doctors.

I have the same symptoms. Started a few days after unprotected sex with gf. Started with tingling pain at head of penis (like prickling needles), worked it's way up the urethra, led to pain in testicles, lower right abdominal area, lower back/kidney area. Was treated as if it was a UTI with Cipro antibiotics... seemed to help a little as the pain in urethra subsided but never fully went away. A year later and I still have pain in abdomen and almost constant light burning at opening of urethra/head of penis (random occasional sharp pain). Did the usual STD urine/blood tests like everyone else on here more than once and also had a prostate exam - all were negative. Recommended I have a abdominal CT scan. If anyone has insight please share. I would also show this message board to your doctor so they know it's not an isolated problem. Obviously something contracted from sex - viral, bacterial or yeast I am still unsure. I will update once I get results. Good luck.

I'm reposting this from another thread about the same thing (this thread has more posts):

Yeah, I have the same problems!! I've had them for over a year now. Mine started with an initial "infection" that included more severe burning sensations than I have now and some clear discharge, but was diagnosed as Non-Gonochoccal Urethritis which seems to translate to "we don't know what it is." The Doxycycline seemed to clear that up, except for that little nagging occasional itch/stinging at the end of urethra - sometimes it feels like someone is sticking a needle into me right at the base of my penis head - and then yes, the anal itching and fullness developed after that - if I touch my anus, it feels like it's recoiling or something, like it's too tight.
Oh, and the worst part for me is that masturbation doesn't feel the same anymore - it's just not as enjoyable; there's a feeling like a sort of "stiffness" in my urethra, a slightly burning/hot sensation that's not very pleasurable.
Two different prostate exams resulted in them saying it felt a little swollen and "boggy." I think I've taken 3 rounds of Doxy, and an aggressive round of Cipro - which may have lasted a month, I can't remember now if it was Doxy or Cipro that they had me take for a month. 2 different urologists and a general family practice person - they even had me use scotch tape to test my anus for worms! they always seem to give up though - my last visit to the urologist, and he was kinda like "well it's probably not bacterial ... y'know, some people just have itchy anuses ... here's a prescription for what amounts to Hydrocortisone." What?! I lived about 25 years without this problem, so what happened? And gee, thanks for your topical band-aid solution!
I think this experience has shown me the limits of modern western medicine - all doctors can really do is prescribe antibiotics and steroids and perform surgeries, it seems like they're bad at little things like this, things that may require a more holistic approach.
So that's where I'm at right now, considering exploring other options - I got a book called "A Headache in the Pelvis" that attributes a lot of pelvic disorders to pelvic muscle tension. Unfortunately, I lack the discipline to really follow their advice thoroughly, especially because part of it involves finding someone who can do "trigger-point release therapy" which can even involve going in through the anus and pressing down on tense points - seems like it might be difficult to find a person trained in this. But this idea makes sense to me - why would my anus and the tip of my penis feel irritated? Maybe because they're connected to the same groups of muscles internally?
It also makes sense because when this first afflicted me, I was under a lot of stress, and it could be that my body was tensing muscles that I was not aware of.
Has anyone noticed any relationship with diet or anything like that? I feel like coffee might make mine feel a little worse, and possibly alcohol, but I'm not sure about that. I did this thing called the Master Cleanse last fall, a 10 day fast with only a maple-syrup-based-lemonade for sustenance, and absolutely no other chemicals, and I felt some improvements. In fact, I forgot about this, but before the cleanse I was even starting to get random pains creeping up my abdomen, and the cleanse (as well as exercise, yoga, etc.) seemed to abate that, but still the penis/anus pain/itching keeps coming back - it's actually getting worse for me right now, and I'm not sure why. I think I need to dive headlong into that book and see what happens.
I'm glad that I found this forum that describes my symptoms so accurately. I would be interested in working together to solve this. I'm tired of the psychological damage that this has caused, the feeling that I will never be well again, that I'm just going to have to live with this.
------
So now, after reading these forums, I'm concerned that maybe it is yeast/candida and not the muscle tension thing - or maybe both? I guess I'm going to try a yeast treatment and see what that does, before fully embarking on the muscle tension journey, which sounds like it will be fairly involved.
Anyone have any updates on this?

This just happened to me last week and all tests came back negative. i'm freaking out because it hurts like hell from time to time and my balls are in pain. My doc gave me a shot (thick stuff in the butt - not sure what it was called) and prescribed Doxycycline hyclate. Doesnt seem to be helping yet, but I'll keep you all posted if it does.

Think it def could be a yeast infection... gonna try that spit test tomorrow.

FYI - it WAS a yeast infection and not the herps... do the spit test, see if you have a white tongue, etc. I took a bath with lukewarm water in white vinegar last night and it helped sooo much. I also put natural, plain yogurt all over my Johnson and that helped too. Got prescribed Difultran (sp?) this morning. I also asked for a parasite test because most of my spit fell to the bottom... turns out the girl I was hooking up with was on a special diet for a parasite she had and just got over a yeast infection.

Is that spit test for real? I tried it, and sure enough, my saliva looked like a bunch of little strands extending downward. But I wonder if that website just wants to to sell EVERYONE their product.
So I saw a 3rd urologist, and he basically prescribed me a bunch of different stuff just to try some new solutions out, for which I was grateful - this dude was definitely less dismissive than the other guys; maybe he felt bad that I've been experiencing this for 14 months. But I still had to stress that I really wanted the Diflucan, just to make sure. I took it 4 days ago, and I'm still feeling the symptoms today, so maybe it's not yeast.
He told me that Flomax works for this for some people, because it relaxes the muscles that might be causing the pain, so he prescribed me that as well - I haven't tried it yet; wanted to rule out the yeast possibility first.
He also prescribed me an anti-inflammatory - Naproxen, which I also haven't tried.
So I guess I'll see what these drugs can do before I commit to a life of trigger point release therapy and yoga or whatever it will take to relax these stupid tense muscles (assuming that's what it really is). I'll keep everyone posted (no pun intended).
