I had laparoscopic surgery Mar. 8 and for inguinal and umbilical surgery and was told by the surgeon I would be up and around in 5-6 days.  It has been 5 weeks and still no sign that the swelling has gone down.  In fact at times my scrotum feels heavier and bigger.  They are super sensitive and my nerves are shot.  I can't get comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep, maybe an hour here and there.  The surgeon dismisses my agony and continues to tell me the swelling will go down but informs me it might take up to a year.  I am 74 and can't live like this.  After the last scheduled appt a week ago he said see you in 6 weeks and said he wouldn't write any more prescriptions for the pain meds. I also take Motrin which helps a little.  Has anyone had the same experience and/or found something to relieve the horrible discomfort other than the usual remedies and procedures?
