Ive been on symbicort for six months now. I gained weight but thought it was my antidepressant. I stopped taking my antidepressant because I was convinced this was the reason for my 10 pound weight gain. I joined Title boxing, boxed 6x a week, hour long classes and havent lost a pound! i keep gaining and hardly eat. I'm done!!! I can't take how bloated I feel. No more symbicort!

Sorry--but not all people are created the same and despite what the "experts" say, many people have noted weight gain when taking this medication.

I have also gained weight and my hair was so thick and now I see people are losing their hair? Yikes, hate this drug. What else can be taken? What about cromolyn sodium?

I agree because I have gained 13 lbs and am always hungry after using this wonderful drug. It also messes with my singing as it makes me hoarse and gives me dry mouth sometimes

I have been using 160 along with pulmicort for 6 months know and have not noticed any changes in weight, or appetite. I do notice that I cough up more phlegm which means it's working, preventing bronchitis and infection. Just remember to keep your he clean, stay away from really sick people and keep clothing and sheets clean and dry because of risk of infections from bacteria, yeast or other types of contagious forms sickly means.

I, too am taking Symbicort and have noticed weight gain. I exercise and walk daily. My appetite hasn't increased but I have noticed weight gain since I have been taking Symbicort.
