Symbicort has been great for my lungs. However in 6 months I've gained almost 18 lbs. same lifestyle has to be something with the symbicort imo

the drug pamphlet says the inhaler can cause increased appetite and high blood sugar which are two thing that will cause weight gain. People experience different side effects.

I have been using Symbicort for 2 months now and I am definitely more hungrier than before taking it. I haven't gained any weight because I do exercise but my appetite is out of control and I am paying close attention to what I eat to not gain weight.

I know this too late but gotta answer this I’m using Symbicort for 3 years now I have gained weight mainly in midsection and belly swelling beside the weight gain When I cut it in a week I was starting to loose the weight and the swelling was gone

Iv taken sybicort for a while..i eat healthy..yet still gaining weight iv never had..since on this med. ive gained 20 in my mis section. Im retired const. worker...but i hit tread mill and stay active. just cant shake weight..tried dieting

I have had the same issue. I've worked out over 20 days (cardio and with a personal trainer) this month and am sticking to a healthy diet and gained 8 pounds.

I too find the drug is very helpful it is the only one that treats my COPD but in one year even after rinsing after every use I still have gained a lot of weight.

You know, I survived breast cancer, dealt with the traumatic loss of my breast, beautiful waist length hair and everything else - the chemicals and radiation ruined my lungs and now, trying to regain what I have left of my breath, losing my hair again and my shortness of breath is not improving. I've had it. Thank you Symbicort for nothing. I'm turning to natural oils and call it good. Oh and I did not gain weight because I refused to go down that path too, so I only eat once a day and take walks! You better believe I know how to fight back, but enough is enough and the battle is one I'm choosing!
