I heard about tapazole promotion in treatment of Grave’s disease. Is it indicated in all disorders of activity of thyroid gland? What should I know about this drug? Can it affect on fetus if used during pregnancy? Does it cause drowsiness and vertigo? Thanks.

Tapazole is methimazole, it is considered as antithyroid agent. Tapazole is indicated in Grave’s disease, as it is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism. Antithyroid drugs may cause harm to the fetus during pregnancy, and also during nursing. It is generally well tolerated, may cause nausea, headache and muscle aches. Vertigo and drowsiness have not been recognized as side effects of tapazole.
