I was on Yasmin for 4 years and discovered last year that I have a tumor in my uterus. This of course was awful news as my husband and I would really love to have a baby together. I've been off the Yasmin for 5 months now and when for another check-up 2 weeks ago and my doctor noted that my tumor has shrunken a bit. So what does that tell you about Yasmin?

I've been on Yasmin for around 3 months.

I was previously on a different pill (and asked my doctor to change as I had put on about 3-5 kgs since starting the previous pill 3 months prior)

Before starting on the pill (6 months ago) I had extremely heavy and painful periods. Since going on the pill they're much lighter and hardly any pain.

The doctor said that if I went on Yasmin my weight would return to normal. However, none of the weight has come off. I don't have any other side effects besides this but am going to try and find a different pill which won't put weight on.

I was put on Yasmin when I was 15 (I am now 21 and still taking it) for my acne, and it cleared that up really well, my appetite was somewhat repressed (but not so much as to cause any issues). I am however diagnosed with Depression, General Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder, but that has been gradually been getting worse my entire life and I do not believe it is a product of taking Yasmin, but perhaps Yasmin has contributed to it (though in no way caused it).

My moods in the week leading up to my period are much better than if I am not on Yasmin, and my cramps and bleeding are not as bad.

As a note to two of the people who commented above; Genital warts/pimples as you referred to them are not a result of taking any pill, and are quite likely to be an Sexually Transmitted Disease, and should absolutely be checked. If you are informed after having that checked that it is in fact an STD, you need to contact any sexual partners and notify them.

I was prescribed yazmin to reduce my polycystic ovaries and regulate my periods. i was on mycrogynon for 5 years and also tried the injection for about a year... niether of these really suited me. i have only been taking yazmin for 8 days and have suffered from severve depression & panic attacks. i have always been very emotionally up and down. i dont suggest the yazmin pill to anyone that has emotional tendencies. some of my friends say that it has made them really depressed and some say it is fine so i guess it depends on your natural hormone levels. goint through the last 8 days & reading the above comments definatley makes me never want to use any pill its jujst not worth it. im thinking about trying non-hormonal methods such as the coil.

Do any of u suffering from migraines and headaches wear contact lenses? I've been having migraines so bad that they wake me up at night and last for days at a time. However, after weeks of trying to figure it out, i only get the migraines on days when i wear my contacts, and it does mention in the yasmin side effects about contact trouble. I'm in the process of getting a new prescription, in the meantime i've just been wearing my glasses for the past 3-4 days and i've been headache free.

I was prescribed Yasmin by my Gyno who said it would help with my PMS symptoms.  I experienced SEVERE mood swings, uncontrollable crying spells and trouble breathing while on Yasmin.  Honestly, it was one of the worst experiences of my life and I have lost all respect for the Doctor who prescribed this horrific pill to me.  Once I went off of it, I felt normal again after a few days.  I'm honestly surprised I didn't end up in the psych ward.  All of my friends and family saw a major difference in my behavior on this pill and noticed a difference when I stopped taking it.  Thank God I realized it was the pill and went off of it.  It should honestly be taken off the market.  Unbelievable.  Oh, and my doctor didn't believe a word I said about the side effects.  What a joke.

I've been taking Yasmin (in the Netherlands) from 2006-2008 and it was perfect! Only some mood swings at the beginning (2-3 months) and that was it!

After that I just stopped to get pregnant. Pregnancy OK! When my son turned 18 months, we decided to stop with Yasmin to get pregnant...nothing! Now we decided to get back to the pill just to shake my hormones a little, so I got back to Yazmin just 2 weeks ago...MIGRAINES!!!!!!! I couldn't get out of bed, it was horribly sunny here (when it's horribly sunny? when you have a migraine, that's when!), I couldn't spend the weekend with my son (it started on Saturday and ended up on Sunday evening)... I've never had this and I didn't know what was happening to me until I commented this with a friend of mine and she said: those are migraines!

So I was just analysing what have changed in my diet to trigger the migraine (although it can be triggered by basically anything) and the only thing was Yasmin! So I stopped, went to my OB/GYN and she told me to stop with the pill, get another pill or get a IUD (Mirena, also from Bayer).

So far no migraines, I haven't made up my mind with another pill and my sister just told me of lawsuits she saw on US TV last weekend about Yaz (another name for Yasmin)...WTF???

I'll have to check with my OB/GYN again to see what can we do...any ideas? I don't live in the US, otherwise I'll sue Bayer as well :(:(

I am sure everyone says this but I thought these symptoms were just me becoming crazy :( I have had every Symptom and now I haven't been regular I have period for like a day or two then stopped. I am only 18 I was put on both control as soon as i started my period so taking for about 5-6 years. I did too skip period and they assured me that's fine to do. I would experience blur vision and need to triple blink to brin me back to focus. I am depressed but happy so I know it's always one little thing. Cramping happened everywhere in my legs. Stomach problems I have either runny or constipated I just moved so I dot have a doctor but I have been experiencing random sharp throbbing pain random times and spots that become tight red warm to touch and it's like I can feel an invisable line of pain. I don't know if i should go i had first pain side of right thigh then my right arm

I never really write reviews however this i felt the need to. I started taking Yasmin only a month ago and already it has effected me emotionally. Before starting this pill i was always positive, content and could handle stress extremely well. Since starting this pill i've been having extreme anxiety to the point where i cannot sleep or eat, anxiety attacks and horrible depressive thoughts. I have not felt this horrible in years. I get overly anxious over every single little thing. I will be coming off this pill in the next couple of days, these feelings have become absolutley unbearable.

I am 26 years old and have just stopped taking due to
moodiness (week prior to menstrual cycle)
vaginal dryness
no sex drive
yeast infections

My doctor suggested getting my hormones tested due to these issues I went off for three months and got blood work that showed I have extremely low estrogen. My periods are regular so she is unsure what is going on.

I took Yasmin in 2005 for about 1 year. My doc prescribed it as the new wonderful pill. I suffered from depression, migraines, restless leg syndrome, and very heavy periods lasting for unto 10 days. The heavy loss of blood caused me to develop anemia which further aggravated all my symptoms and lcaused severe joint pain. Eventually another doctor prescribed Bextra (also banned today due severe side effects). I stopped taking Bextra within 2 weeks. Another doctor prescribed Zolooft based on his diagnosis of fibromylgia. I developed suicidal tendencies and lost all my sexual desire. Quality of my life deteriorated rapidly over 4 years, until I stopped all these medicines and started my slow recovery in 2009. Today I am healthier and happier. I can not bring back the precious years, but I make an effort to give myself time and attention, meditate and do yoga.
