I couldn't deal with it, I felt I was going crazy! I am on the second week of a different pill, and I'm totally fine!
Do not keep taking something that makes you feel bad, just keep trying until you feel that taking the pill doesn't bother your mood or health.

It sounded too good to be true and it was. Birth control pills that also cleared up acne, treated severe PMS (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder or PMDD) and avoided the water retention of traditional birth control pills.
But soon after Bayer launched Yaz in 2006 as going "beyond birth control," 18-year-olds were coming down with blood clots, gall bladder disease, heart attacks and even strokes. Fifteen-year-old Katie Ketner had her gallbladder removed. Susan Gallenos had a stroke and part of her skull removed. College student Michelle Pfleger, 18, collapsed and died of a pulmonary thromboemboli from taking Yaz, says her mother Joan Cummins.
While TV ads for Yaz in 2008 were so misleading that FDA ordered Bayer to run correction ads, Yaz sales are still brisk. In fact, financial analysts attribute the third quarter slump in the Yaz "franchise" of 28.1 percent to the appearance of a Yaz generic, not to the thousands of women who have been harmed.
Why is Yaz sometimes deadly? It includes a drug that was never before marketed in the U.S. -- drospirenone -- and apparently causes elevated potassium, heart problems, and a change in acid balance of the blood. Who knew? But not only is Bayer still marketing it, women do not receive "test subject" compensation for using it either.

For those of you who still take Yasmin, please stop the pill. It alsmost ruined my life. Here is my story.
I have been taking Yasmin for 7 month. Since the beginning I started to feel irritated but I did not make the connection back then. However, 4 month ago, my symptoms started getting worse, panic attacks started, I couldn't sleep at night, I even had suicidal thoughts although never in my life I thought about this before. I had nervosu breakdown and really felt I was going mad in the clinical sense of the word. I am so glad I have discovered that the pill was causing these effects, because that was not a way of living. After I figured out the cause, i started searching for more information and discovered that, unfortunately, many more other girls are living the same things as I did.
I have told my story because maybe some of you will find a logical explanation of what they are feeling.

I was prescribed Yasmin to control my severe PMS symptoms. My mum was absolutely fed up of my mood swings going wild at home, so she wanted me to go on the pill just for that. I don't use it for Contraception, I'm a virgin and will be until i'm married.
I've only been taking this for 3 days now, and the nauseous feelings are becoming unbearable and are frankly frightening me due to having an eating disorder anyway. My doctor also knew that i had depression about 2 months ago, and knew i was having suicidal thoughts, yet she still thought this was the best option for me. WRONG. You should be extra careful when you've had depression previously, but how can you take extra care when this pill can only make it worse.
After reading other side-effects and health scares that people have had long term with this pill, there's no way i'm continuing. I've stopped taking it now and already my stomach has shrunk slightly, which will be havoc trying to get my eating back on track again.
Thankyou, Yasmin for making me feel like c**p. You suck.

I just wanted to add my experience with Yasmin and its generics. I am 48 years old and I took it for 10 years after all other hormonal methods, plus IUD, didn't work for me ( I had typical discomfort and side effects). Yasmin was a godsend until about three years ago when i started getting severe migraines during my period and sometimes during the weeks on the pill. At first I could not believe it was the pill. After going off and on several times over the last couple of years, I realized that there was no doubt it was the pill. With concerns of blood clots, plus one trip to the emergency room due to dehydration from vomiting for 24 hours because of the pain, I had to sadly end my tumultuous relationship with this pill (the final generics I was on were Ocella and Zarah). I hope I can find another, but my attempts have been fruitless.

Hi ladies,
Just sitting at home after having been sent home from work after thinking what I was experiencing was a stroke. I started seeing spots around my right eye which had increasingly got worse over several months and as I was sitting at work not being able to ignore these spots anymore I felt one finger after another numbing....it was hands down one of the scariest things I have ever felt.
My doc advised straight away to stop taking the pill and thankfully linked everything together...just taking some blood thinners now to get rid of any clotting that seems to be causing some of the symptoms.
I am 29 now and I have been taking different pills for the last 10 years mainly for my bad skin...tell you what...I'd rather have a couple od spots than go through that again.

Good that I am not alone. I have been on Yasmine for last 6 years. I have severe migraines recently and sometimes blurred vision. I want to stop the Yasmine and try IUD.However, I was told that stopping Yasmine will gain weight (a lot). Is it true? Could any one of you tell me your experience of stopping Yasmine? I appreciate your reply.
