i had thd surgery 8 days ago .First five days i would call VERY UNCOMFORTABLE lots of NSAIDsl but now i am very happy to have had this proceedure. just remember to take the 3 M s motrin metamucil &milk of magnesia

Had the surgery on 10-22. Still having pain. It is hard to differentiate between what will be a BM and gas. I am supposed to return to work on 10-29 and don't know how that will be possible between pain and need to rest.

I had the THD procedure done three days ago, and no bowel movement yet. I've been taking Colace, fiber pills, but nothing is working. Drinking a lot of liquids. What else can I do?

Yes, the alleged recovery time is absurd. My surgeon warned me of the post op pain which is misery. Oxycodone wouldn't be prescribed otherwise. Eight days now and although the pain is tolerable with advil and tylenol, the bowel situation is horrendous. Friend's sister had the op same day different hospital and is in the same boat, maybe worse.
