If any of you are still here, I've been having to sign in again every day for the past few days even though I have "remember me for 2 weeks" checked.
Anyone else ?
I also had to recheck the notify me box when I sent this. It seems like I'm getting unsubscribed from some topics that I've been expecting to hear from.

Yeah, we seem to be getting a lot of "guests" lately and a whole bunch of wise guys.
Hey, I went to my 55th class reunion Sunday.
The first one to greet me with a big hug as I walked in the door was a girl who never spoke to me when we were in high school. She and a bunch of others used to have wicked drinking parties at her father's camp. I didn't drink so I wasn't good enough for them. Most of her gang is dead so I guess being alive is in my favor now.
I took about two more steps and another hug came from a girl I thought was the greatest back then. I haven't seen her since high school. I don't know how many times I asked her for a date and got turned down. She's still just as cute as she was.
The best was a girl who was my bud in school. She came over to put the grabbus on me at the table. I wrapped my arm around her waist and it was great just holding her and reminising. It's a shame, time has not been kind to her but she's still just as much fun as she was.
Class reunions are a lot of fun and very interesting. It's not much fun to see the ones who are not enjoying good health though.
A couple of my good friends (guys) were there. They both seem to be in great health and they both are retired university presidents. One is married to a girl who lived up the street from me and she was about the hottest one at the reunion. We used to play together but it was her older sister I had the hots for but she didn't return the sentiment. She did go with me on some pity walks though. Even knowing that, I was willing to go on those walks just to be near her for a while. See how desperate us young boys can be?
I missed one girl who was my favorite square dance partner in grade school. She made captain in the Navy and I was so proud of her. She died of breast cancer after our last reunion.
We combined 4 years so I got to see many people I knew in school who weren't in my class too. I think a combined reunion is the best way to go.

They seem to change over the years. At first the cliques are still prevalent but I always enjoyed them. I always say: GO!
I lived in a small town so we were nearly all together from grade 1 to 12. Well not really because the girls went to a female school after the 6th grade and the boys to a male school but we got back together in grade 11 when they built a new high school and closed that female one.
We also have tried to locate people who were in our classes at any point during the 12 years. Some move away before graduation, some didn't graduate, and some were only here for a few years but not like a school near a military base where they have a lot of them coming and going. I had been with many of the kids in my class since the 1st grade.
We have not been able to get any of the girls who quit school to come though. Back then it was not uncommon for a girl to quit when she turned 16 (the law said you had to stay in school until 16) and go to work in the cotton mill or shoe shop beside her mother. The fact is we can't find them. Last winter I was stopped at a traffic light when the guy next to me rolled down his window and said "my wife knows you". the light changed and we were off. At the next light we ended up next to each other but I was on his wife's side and she told me her name. I would not have recognized her until she told me but then I could see it. I wish we could have exchanged addresses or phone numbers because it would have been great to get her to come to the reunion.
As the years pass the cliques go away and you are just old friends, some better than others, but you have so much in common from all those years together.
So go if you can.
We started ours when a girl I hardly knew in school, and me happened to meet walking across the Navy Yard. We stopped to say hi, surprised at the chance meeting. One of mentioned that next year would be 10 years and neither of us had heard from the class officers about a reunion. So we decided to take on oursleves. We got a few others interested and met at her house to organize it.
