Hi there
Just been told about a tear in my hip joint with a cyst on top.
Walked out of the Doctors office a bit bewildered hearing the word CYST.
I now have to wait for just over a month till I get to see the specialist.
Could you please tell me what normally happens with this problem.
I am 39 female and I a love walking and playing Badminton.
I am unable to do these now as the pain sometimes is terrible.
I get pain in my groin, buttocks and hip area. When my hip is bad it can lock or feels like it gives way. Stairs can also pose as a problem.
Cheers
Erin

It sounds like you may have a synovial cyst of the hip joint. Lesions on the articular surfaces of the ball and the socket of your hip joint, and pieces of torn cartilage can cause your hip to lock up. A TENS unit and an electrical muscle stimulator (EMS) may help reduce the pain and restore mobility. Both are available online at very affordable prices. Acupuncture and massage therapy may also offer pain relief.
