Hello there,

Yes this is possible and two urethras is a congenital condition which results in two ureters draining a single kidney.

This is very rare condition and it happens to 1 % of population so you are really among the rearrests known cases. This condition is also called duplicated ureter.

Since everything about this is very interesting I hope that you will continue to inform us about further actions in your case. What did your doctor said and how did you find out about this anyway. I know that sometimes this condition can be similar to the symptoms of UTI and that this is the way it is usually discovered. Keep us posted about your condition.

Yes. It is possible. I actually had surgery at the age of three and had one urethra removed because it caused my kidneys to get infected. I actually had 1/3 of my kidney removed with it because of this.

I have two urtheas and I found out when I had kidney laser surgery and the urologist could only break up one of the stones due to my having two urtheas and they put a stint in each on and left it in until they can do the second surgery. I had no idea and I am 61 years old but I have had a lot of problems with UTIs since my mid 50's

Yes, i to have 2-of them on my left side, was discovered when they went in to remove my kidney stone but couldn't because i have 2- of them, i have 2-stents, one in each tube to widen and will go back next Friday to try to remove the stone. Its a 5mm stone so she is going to try to blast it with a laser and pull out the small fragments. The Urethra drains the bladder, not the kidney. Ureters drain the kidney. These are 2 different conditions.
