I am an alcoholic (way more than 3 drinks a day) and I used to take tylenol to cure hangovers and normal pains at work, then drink at night. This went on for about 2 to 2 1/2 years until I learned that lots of people were dying from mixing the two, then I stopped taking tylenol about a year and a half ago, but I kept drinking. When I stopped the tylenol, I soon started getting sick often, about two or three times a month. The most noticeable symptom I got, and still do, is that the lymph nodes in my throat were swelling massively. I dont have insurance, and the ER here is insistant that I have tonsilitis.
Does anyone have these problems, or know anyone else with them? I am very afraid for my liver. Ultimately I would like to know If I can get help somewhere other than an ER, or if Im going to die from this.

I was doing some research myself on a similar relation between the 2 for a grad class. As it turns out the body uses the same enzymes to metabolize both Alcohol and Tylenol. This means that an alcoholic, even after years of soberity should NEVER touch it, as it can and probably will cause a relapse.
