Now that my chest pain has gone, just this minute I had a cigarette and it hurt near my heart. Again its pain that I could live with, but what could it be? And is it bad?

Is pain near your heart bad? Only if the next pain feels like an elephant standing on your chest. I don't know I guess it could be any number of things. Obviously see a doctor if it keeps happening. I sometimes get a weird feeling or slight pain. No matter what I'm doing I go into freak out mode.

Good. I've thought maybe I had a heart problem one time and it ended up being a pulled muscle in my chest. duh. If you like Richard Pryor one of his video's on you tube he talks about the time he had a heart attack and I had tears running down my face I was laughing so hard. He was rolling around on the stage. He had a gift of making something funny but I think his portrayal was dead on. One of the most influential comedians of all time. No Pryor-no Rock- no Murphy. He was the best.

Man, I'm not a doctor, I'm just old. :) Follow your gut. If you think there's a problem see a doc. Takes about 2 minutes to get an EKG. It will put your mind at ease. I know that when I'm thinking somethings wrong with some part of my body I will get it checked out. Then I hear, 'you don't have a problem with your legs or walking, your jeans are too tight!!!!!'
