Heart area feels uncomfortable all the time? Sometimes when I move I feel a weird ache in my heart, lasts for about 2 secs, usually when I pull myself forward, when I breathe I feel this fluttery discomfort around that particular area, sometimes when I put my hand to where it beats It doesn't feel, like right, it feels different to how it used to (no odd beats just the feeling of it(it isn't a pain as such, more of a discomfort, an annoying feeling that won't go away) just feel kinda heavy around my heart and tight, yeah that'sthe word, tight 16 year old female, It started with 3 months ago now, or even 4, I pulled a chest muscle and ended up having quite bad pain covering the middle of my chest and all around the left, it was under my arm as well, I went to see the doc twice about it and he said I had chosocondritus, a week later the pain went and I went about a week and a half with no pain in my chest what so ever, but throughout at week I developed a bad fear of my heart stopping, and every moment I was so scared that someone dreadfully bad was going to happen to me, idk why, it's like I couldn't help it, then I started to develop this fluttery feeling on the left side of my chest, like whenever I breathed I had this flutter, it made me want to grope my left side of my chest, because it felt so uncomfortable, I experienced is for two weeks straight, this made my anxiety and bad thoughts develop even more and eventually I started to have panic attacks, I went to a and e twice and had an ecg each time and they turned out normal, (also i have had a blood test and a chest xray) I went to see a different doc and he said that it isn't muscular and it could possibly be acid reflux, so he prescribed be some lansoprazole, I was on this for 2 weeks and yes, my flutters stopped but THEN I started to experience (constantly day and night for 3 weeks) a pinching feeling whenever my heart beat, like each bet would feel like a small pinch/pricking feeling, this was really awful and obviously I started to get scared again, because I'd been told it was two things and Id had medication for both? I got so worked up over this I called for a paramedic, they did an ecg and sent me to a doctor afterwards who told me he personally thought this was anxiety... I've been to see a paediatricion a few days ago that specialises in chest and stomach area, he was a very nice man and said that I'm experiencing acid reflux, and I questioned him and mentioned that I heard acid reflux was in the middle of the chest and stomach, but I've only got this pain in my heart area? I told him I was scared it was my heart and that these test results might not show up that my heart could be weak?, but he assured me it was not my heart at all and whatever it is, it's not serious, but how does he know that for sure? he said that I should keep taking the lansoprazole for 2 months, then go and see a doctor who will give me another ecg and blood test, just to reassure me on everything. I'm still experiencing a very bad discomfort all around my bottom left side of my chestI'm still kinda scared about it all and I just dunno what to do anymore, I've tried everything, what do you think it could be? And how do the doctors really know for sure? This is really wearing me down :(Extra info- not experience any other pain/discomfort just my left side of my chest, Also in total seen 5 different doctors, 6 including the paramedic, they all have said that it is not my heart, but not really told me what it definitely is? Well they have but not clearly, Im just so confused how they can know my heart is ok by only having the test results of the chest xray ecg and blood test? Like is that enough? So paranoidAlso I have been thinking what if it is acid reflux but something serious as well?3 days ago - 1 day left to answer.

The thing is doctors as educated as they are only know second hand what real chest pain is like.  So when you know what tests have been done and you are not convinced that these tests can determine if your heart is fine you may be right.  But doctors tend to only look at one thing at a time isolated from everything else.  So if the problem is a more complex pressure related or mechanical problem that is not obvious they will not see it or even look for it.

You say that you pulled a muscle in your chest and then started to have problems with chest pain.  What were you doing at the time you pulled the muscle?  Was this injury serious and was it the only thing that you can think of that could have started causing you problems?  Do you have good posture?  These are the physical circumstances you should be considering when looking for the reason for your chest pain.  Think of anything that may have happened to you that might have altered the shape of your rib cage, changed the internal volume of the chest cavity (do you get pain after eating or in a particular posture), could the spine or other muscles have been injured etc... Anything else that can pinch or put pressure on the circulatory system or the chest region that is giving you pain.

Remember this rule:  Your body does not lie to you.  If it is consistently telling you that you are in pain and that the area around your heart hurts take it seriously.  It may turn out to be something that goes away overtime and you may not give it a second thought years down the road.  But the pain is happening for a reason, do not let the doctors get away with calling it anxiety because your brain will not mislead you about something as serious as the condition of your heart.  Like i said before it might be somekind of minor pressure or blockage that can correct itself overtime.  Just keep listening to what your body tells you and watch your posture.

I mean this in the most compassionate way possible...as someone with very similar fears and anxieties...you really need to just chill...the...f**k...out.
Anxiety works in such f'd up ways...I think what you are/were experiencing is hyperawareness...you are too focused on that particular area of your body that you have amplified the sensations of it...if an ekg says you are fine...then you are fine...at least as far as your heart is concerned...
Please try breathing excercises and try to practice acceptance...you are doing the right thing getting checked out...if you come out of a doctors office ok then you should take relief in that and alleviate some of your health anxiety...
I go through what you have described pretty often..always something doctors can't figure out..and it always ends up being anxiety.
