hello...I am 54 and have just had some spotting with some cramping...laslted for about a day....havent had any since....but called the dr. and she said if it happens again to call her...anyone else had any similiar experiencex?

You ladies had better get to a gynecologist as soon as possible. A brown look to your spotting can indicate cancer. You shouldn't be frightened, it could be a number of issues. However, don't mess around thinking about it. Get yourself checked.

Hello it´s comforting to read a real case history at last.

I´m 62 and live in Alicante. Yesterday I went for an ultra sound as I´ve hadf spotting and a light blood discharge for the past few weeks, on and off.

I was informed that all is well but to follow up with my family doctor which I´ll do Monday next.

It feels exactly like period cramps but lighter. I´ve not had sex for two years so I´m still at a loss as to what is causing the bleeding etc.

I´m a little scared though as I feel at times that I could fal down with exhaustion for no apparent reason.

I hope to learn more from you ladies.

Hi! i'm 54 years young and i have stop bleeding for about 4years and then last year i stared bleeding,but not real heavy,i don't soak my pads.but i started cramping two days ago and then i started my period and my breast was tender,i always have fibroids ,but that can play a part of the bleeding my doctor told me that they wild shrink now that iam 54.i had my pap and now it is time for me to have it again in 4 days.i had this same bleeding last month as thou iam have my period all over again.the doctor tell me as long as iam not flooding and soaking my pads allday long i should be ok.

I am 56 and haven't had a period in about 5 years. I had tender breasts for about a week or two and thought that was peculiar. I am currently spotting for a couple of days now and came here to see what others are reporting. Sounds like this is a common phenomena, i.e. post menopausal spotting.

Most everyone plans to visit their doctor. They will no doubt do a pap smear and assess. Sounds like a wise plan of action. I need a regular check up so I will go in soon too. I am just watching this bleeding at this time. I have not required more than a tissue cleaning but it has gone on for two days. And I did feel the menstrual cramping before the blood came down.

I am not worried. For someone who is having heavy bleeding, maybe should be making an urgent appointment. Blood loss can be debilitating and large losses are suspicious.

I will take a 'wait and see' approach. I will interpret this as normal and as long as things don't get worse, I won't worry. I shall take it as normal as I am healthy otherwise. Take care ladies.

I'm glad to have found these posts!!  I am going to be 61 next month.  I haven't had a period in 8 years.  For the past few months, I have felt what seems like period cramps!  I decided today to keep a calendar to see when the cramps occur.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same time of the month each month.   It will be interesting to see!  I will re-post in a couple of months and let you know!

I don't have any staining or bleeding and the cramping is very light.  I am wondering if it has something to do with stress because it began shortly after my mother died.  I had cramps at her wake.

I'm not a dctor or anything, but i would think that it is hormone related si nce it is accompanied by breast tenderness. I wouldn't think cancer or infection would cause breast tenerness. If it were me, I wouldn't be too worried, but would get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

What the heck does ANY of that have to do with post-menopausal bleeding? Did you even READ the thread?!

My husband die in May. Stress from grief can cause of kinds of pain and issues. I am 61. This week I have been spotting w/ light cramps. This has happen before. I went to the doctor. She said it is normal. Spotting is different than bleeding. I am taking this as a reminder to go to annual paps test.

Bleeding due to stress? What a joke. You need a second opinion!

I am 59 years old.  I had some spotting but went through a super stressful time in the spring and then I started having gushes of blood.  That has stopped but I get crampy feeling and then will have some spotting and like a period for about 30 minutes.  Very weird, but I have noticed that stress seems to bring this on.   Praying it is nothing. 

i am 65, my periods stopped when i was 40.been having very light spotting only after urinating and only occassionaly for about a year, no pain,no burning, nothing,feel fine,sounds like im not alone on with .

I am 57 years old still see my period every month although it lasted for a day,spotting some month.
