My brother is now in a prominent MA hospital just admitted last week with an abcess (tumor?) on his carotid artery that caused terrible shooting pain to his head. He has what once thought to be granulomas covering his lungs and also on his liver. He has vasculitis and developed a dropped foot as a result. His abcess (growth) on carotid artery ws aspirated and no fluid was drawn (pus) and that would have meant maybe an abcess. In need of further cells for a more definitive determination, he is to undergo another surgery in a day or so. They want to se if there is a connection to those lumps on the lung. My question is "Is this something rare or is there a case very much like it anywhere?" There is a team of drs. working on him....Thank you!
