Hi! I have been doing some research into vasculitis and I have heard that you can actually become deaf as a result of vasculitis. Do you know anything about this? Can you tell me more? I thought vasculitis just affected the blood vessels, but apparently it can strike the ears too!?!

There are different forms of vasculitis that all do totally different things. One form on vasculitis, which is called Cogan's syndrome, can even cause permanent defness in patients. So, answering your question, it is indeed possible to become deaf due to vasculitis. Is there anything else you would like to know?

Cogan's syndrome? I have never heard of that before. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I will now look it up and see whether I can find more information about how it happens exactly. If I need more info after that, I'll come back here again and ask you.
