Hi, folks. I have heard something about vasculitis. As far as I know, it is a form of blood vessel inflammation. However, I was wondering if it can be induced by certain drugs. I would really appreciate if someone could give me some more info regarding this matter. I hope someone will answer.

Hello. Drugs can induce vasculitis. We are talking about hypersensitivity vasculitis or leukocytoclastic vasculitis (LCV). It mostly affects small sized blood vessels. There are many causes of LCV, but in 50% it is unknown. Drugs are just one of them. Those are usually antibiotics or non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In theory, any kind of drug can cause it. I hope this helps. Bye!
