i had the same problem taking an NSAID such as motrin 2 tablets every 4-6 hours 2 days before your period can eliminate these symptoms it works by lowering the hormones that initiate the nausea and vomiting. but i am not a doctor try it because its OTC and may work for you. good luck.

Hi I'm 26, and I'm also having the same problems, when I get my period, about 3 times a year I vomit as well.
Feel really weak and faint. The doctors don't know what it is either. It's so random how it happens like 3 times a year.
Roughly, just thought it might be nice to let you know that this happens to someone else too :-)

I just read that you were diagnosed with cycling vomiting and I was wondering how were you diagnosed? What type of doctor. My daughter has been sick for three years and was seeing a gastroenterologist for all this time trying to figure out if food is a problem. Now, we realize for the last five months - the vomiting is on the first day of her cycle. I have been trying to find out more about cyclical vomiting and which type of doctor to see. Any help would be appreciated. I hope you are doing better. Thanks

Ashley,  The same thing is happening with my daughter.  She is 11 and one the first day of her cycle she vomits, she is pale and weak and heavy bleeding for the first three days of her cycle.  She goes through a sanitary napkin on an hour the big thick ones.  For night sleeping it is two, and she can barely move the cramps are so bad.  I too have spoken to her dr and he suggests birth control.  I am almost tempted to say ok because once a month she is unable to function.  I also read about Cyclical Vomitting Syndrome and would like more information if anyoe has any,it would be really appreciated if you could share.

Worried mom.

Hi, I'm the 26 year old who is now 27, I was giving blood for a study at the hospital during that time I fainted and also seizure. (this was also during my period) This was a big scare, I'm also a vegetarian as well, but still eat fish. It seems to be getting worse as I get older..I'm wondering if being a vegetarian is wise for my health. And worried Mum, I would think long and hard about birth control.. as because you would be on it a long time.. it could hinder your chances of having children later on.. you could be totally fine, I just know people that have been on the pill for a while and then found it really hard to get pregnant.. but then it would be hard to know what to do if she can't function once a month..

Ashley and other Guest, I am now 18 but first got my period when I was 10 years old.  I had irregular, extremely heavy periods.  I went through a pad an hour and my periods lasted at least a week.  My cramps brought me to tears and sent me home from school 5th through 8th grade and triggered migraines ands iron deficiency. After having enough pain and suffering, my mother took me to her gyno and he prescribed me LO-Seasonique.  Its a low dose birth control.  I get my period every 3 months, with occasional spotting, and it is light and lasts only about 3 days or so. I am no longer trapped in my bed for a week every month with a heating pad, heat flashes, or cramps that  bring me to tears. There is no medical need to get your period every month but there are also other brands of LO-hormone birth control pills that can give you a short, easy-to-deal-with period every month.

It sounds like anemia. Heavy bleeding causes this. Birth control replaces iron. Burt so does iron supplements. I am 23 and I have had the same problem since I was 12

I'm 18 and I also have a similar problem. Cramps that bring me to tears on the first day of my cycle most months. I think it could be endometriosis but that's only my guess so I'm going to ask a doctor to check it out. If you have the same problem I would advise you to look it up.
