Hi for about a week ive been experiencing mild vulva pain, but just today it has 'spread' down towards my urethra, its like a sharp pain, and if i touch it or pee it burns and stings. i've found that using 'Miconazole 7-day treatment cream' relieves the pain/burning sensation. I recently had sex for the first time..it happened to be in the shower, and he was a virgin too and doesnt know anything about...not using soap as lubricant. i don't know if thats relevant or not, but i think it may have something to do with it. any insight would be appreciated. thank you!

Sounds a lot like thrush, a yeast infection, caused by a PH imbalance between male and female (intentional, it is nature's way of protecting the environment of what is otherwise a vulnerable opening to the woman's body for disease, infection etc).
Have a search on any of those terms to learn more, consult with a doctor or pharmacist (I am not) if you feel concerned, but I would start there. Treatment is simple, if hardly a turn on for either party, as it involves inserting tablets to counteract the infection.
Welcome to sex. Great, isn't it. Don't worry, there's a lot of good stuff too, which I hope you've found out, or find out.
Take care.
