I can't get into the Dr. for another week and a half. I need some advice. I'm experiencing vaginal soreness, started about 4 days ago, just sore when I wiped after peeing. It started on the outside of my vagina, at the bottom, closest to my butt. But now it's moved up and all around the opening of my vagina, its kind of red, and swollen, and now my labia is swollen and it hurts when I walk or sit. It's starting to itch just a little bit. But mostly it just hurts. I also am experiencing thin clear discharge, more than usual, and sometimes it's really thick, kind of like a gel. There is no smell, and no white stuff like you'd have during a yeast infection. I don't know what it could be...I haven't been sexually active in over a year o.O (poor me) lol. So I know I didn't contract an std.
But something is definitely going on down there. Any suggestions would be appreciated, like is there something over the counter I could take to help with the inflammation and soreness?
Thanks,
E

I sympathise (with the (poor me)). As to the symptoms, I confess I'd have to ask if you can't make that visit a little sooner. You may be right and it's not a yeast infection, but it's clearly an infection of some sort, and isn't clearing itself up. Given that you say it started around your bum, I would raise the possibilty for example of e-coli, very helpful in the bowel, very nasty anywhere else.
I'm not a doctor, simply an experienced adult, but expediting that visit (or at least getting down to the pharmacy, or having someone else visit on your behalf) would seem called for. Please feel free to re-post if my encouraging you to check it out sooner rather than later isn't sufficiently helpful.

The problem with seeing the Dr. is that i don't have insurance, and the last time I called the Health Department Clinic for an appt, they told me there were no openings for at least a week and a half. But I'm going to take your advice, and call tomorrow and see if I can get in sooner, I'll explain to them that it's not just for a check up, that it's urgent. And it's gotten more swollen in just the last couple hours, and starting to itch a lot more, so I'm going nuts now.
Thank you for your help
