Hi. I was diagnosed with lupus. I suffer from red, itchy rash all over my face. However, I am well aware that lupus can mimic other diseases and I think I was misdiagnosed. I feel pain, and stiffness, in my joints and I think I have rheumatoid arthritis. I know rash doesn`t fit in that picture, but I think these are two different problems, without connection. Was I misdiagnosed?

Hi. I don`t know. You should ask for a second opinion. I have lupus and I know that more than 50% of lupus patients develop red rash over their nose. It is called butterfly rash, because of its` shape. However, lupus rash is painless and it doesn`t itch. Maybe you have eczema? Eczema is an inflammation of the upper layer of the skin, characterized by redness, itching and dryness.
