I almost never post in these things but I'm wondering if anyone has any answers? Six months ago I got a concussion which lingered eventually leading to the diagnosis of post concussion syndrome, since then almost everything has cleared up but the severe neck pain and weakness, headaches, arm/face tingling, nausea, and debilitating vertigo. I have had a head and neck mri as well as an Mri angiogram of my neck. They all showed nothing. I have been doing physical therapy for four months now and it only temporarily helps. And I have also been on antidepressants on and off for four months. which have not helped either. My dr is telling me it's all in my head and not real but the pt thinks I have upper cervical instability (Atlantoaxial instability) where the upper Vertebrae slides compressing the spine. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Could this be what we all have? I am waiting to get into a neurologist to get his opinion but I hate waiting and wondering in pain!
I was diagnosed with MS in 2007..I have had heavy feelings in arms, legs but never the neck until now and it sounds so much like most of you. I fell little over a month ago and I am worried it could be another onset of the MS problems just this one will not go away like the other episodes. Has anyone been checked for MS? I know how you all feel and very sorry for your pain (it really hurts and puts a toll on your mind and body)..Good luck to everyone and better days are coming.
I have the same problem. I am epileptic so I fall every now and then but it's never done this to me before. I have no clue if it its the cause now. I was rushed to the ER about 5 days ago from almost passing out and all my lab work and CT scan came back fine. The doctor said it could possibly be a nerve that runs through my neck to my heart. The blood pressure drops and sky rockets and then you faint. I don't remember what it's called exactly I just remember that the word "Vegas " is somewhere in there. Ever since that happened in can't shake this feeling now.
Instead of a chiropractor try an osteopathic physician who does manipulation therapy. They are 100 times better than a chiropractor. I know because for two years I went to a chiropractor for neck problems feeling off balance with neck pain, and he didn't do squat and in one instance by a different chiropractor caused me the most pain I ever felt in my neck. By accident I found an osteopath who did manipulation therapy, and after just one treatment all the problems went away. I just love those osteopaths that do manipulation therapy!!!
Hi all.. I have a similar problem with my back, but I've had 2 lumbar fusions. Since then (2009-2010), I'm using walker now, and I've just turned 60, still young. I can't shop anymore, or do anything more or less. I shake so bad 24/7 but I also have COPD and on Prednisone everyday. Last night I woke up about after 2 hrs and couldn't hold my head up, I got scared, never happened before. I've also had a stroke in 2012, but not debilitating, thank God. Wondering what the head thing is about, maybe someone else has had the same thing? Good luck to everyone.
Hey you guys some of these post might be anxiety.some seem to me like STERNOCLEIDOMASTOID problems .there's this muscle that if it gets strained can can all sorts of symptons.headaches and dizzyness are a few.i believe its a MUSCLE that is soo sensitive it runs from your collarbone to the neck, sinus, ears, forehead, eyes, back of the head ,side of cheeks, bridge between your nose..i believe its a very important muscle that no one ever speaks about few know about it .its involved in sight, breathing, chewing, can be affected if you cry or stress.i also believe its involved whenever you eat something it gets affected.you know when you eat something healthy and your eyes feel alert or if you eat chicken you feel slow.i believe like your diet can affect this also if you cry .its the same muscle that looks like a V on the sides of your neck its noticeable.i believe after a while it can be strained or damaged or if you strain it or have a bad habit of crying or take part in activities that affect it.or if your diet is not right if you eat not healthy.i also believe its connected to the middle of the back somehow (this is just my theory).this is all for now i really hope this helps someone.its always best to do your own research check with your doctor.peace best of wishes friends.(: (try omega 3 maybe strenghtens nerves)check you your DOCTOR first peace.
Hey read what i posted on page 20.i believe the muse might be called STERNOCLEIDOMASTOID It can easily cause these symptoms if strained or if the nerves that control it were compressed.i believe its around c 1 c3 or the upper spine ialso believe it can become weak if a person engages in activities that strain it like heavy weight lifting or cryingg.peace
My goodness. I have the exact same symptoms as all of you. Personally, I'm not sure if anything will relieve it at least not medically. And it is frustrating and does give you more anxiety. I will pray for all of us because it is bizarre how we all just so happen to share the exact same symptoms. Peace, blessings, and healing to us all.
Get your dentist to check your jaw for tmd or read up on it ... I've been same all year and it's a disorder of the jaw that is fixable but tends to get overlooked
The person above is right. I take back what I said two days ago about there possibly not being a proper diagnosis or remedy. Everyone should try treating the STERNOCLEIDOMASTOID muscle in your neck and/or the clavicle. Try natural remedies first and if needed physical therapy trigger point focus. Quick healing to all! :)
