So I have had Mirena for just over 3 years now. The entire time has been just a nightmare. I have just stuck with it because NO OTHER birth control works for me so I figure I should just suffer through it until DH gets snipped but as time goes on it gets worse and worse.

The first year I ended up with bacterial vaginosis twice. I had NEVER had an infection until I had Mirena. With the second time having BV the doctor gave me antibiotics again and it just didnt feel like it had gone away. But the doctor brushed me off. A few months later I ended up with PID, the ER doctor said the BV most likely never fully cleared up and then developed into PID. That was a nightmare to say the least!! I dont have periods but I have random spotting sometimes and sometimes I have spotting after sex. I also have pain every month during ovulation time. My lower abdominal area (where my uterus is) is VERY tender and feels bloated for a few days until ovulation is over. I have told my doctor about all of this stuff but they say that its not from the Mirena and that there is nothing wrong. The gyno said that mirena wouldnt be on the market if it caused all these issues...needless to say I wanted to punch her lol.

I have a loads of other problems as well. But now in my third year of having it I have been having an odd issue lately. My hip joint has been feeling stiff and it hurts. My thigh (where my leg connects to my groin area) is having weird radiating and also shooting pains. The pains radiates around to my butt and from my hip down to my knee. My knee joint has also been hurting. I was reading that other mirena users were having these problems with joint and leg pain. I found PAGES of people with these problems and was shocked. How can an IUD cause this?? Im scared at what this is doing to my body. And I noticed that my groin lymph node on the right side (the right leg is the one hurting) is slightly enlarged compared to the other side. I want this thing out but I dont know what else to do for birth control and the doctor doesnt seem to have any answers.
