I am experiencing that same sharp pain in the helix/scapha of the war. It happens from time to time. Sometimes months may pass and I've not experienced it. Then without warning it returns.

I have outer ear pain but during the day. It will start hurting, even moving the shell sends pain through it. After a few minutes, it goes away. It's not from sleeping on it since I'm not in the habit of sleeping at work. Haha

This is exactly the same as how I feel. I have never had the pain before but it’s hot and hurts so much in my helix. Before it was just the bottom and now it’s all over the helix . I have googled it but nothing relates to what I am feeling. I have tried to ignore it but it’s getting worse. I can’t even touch it now without being in such pain.

Could it be possible that your ears are folding over and sometimes if it’s for hours in the same position it can cause a lot of pain -this has happened to both my husband and I

That’s a good point but not my issue
I had gone to a dermatologist for an unrelated issue but because my ear was so red and noticeable, she told me I have ‘cauliflower ear’. My ear does NOT look like a boxer’s ear, it’s not grotesquely malformed, but the helix curve is larger and stands up higher than the back edge of the ear. As long as I follow her instructions (limit all contact with anything, don’t sleep on it, don’t expose it to cold), the pain, redness and flaky skin aren’t an issue.
The injury to this ear was many, MANY years before these symptoms presented themselves so I would never have guessed that was the problem.

I'm having the exact same problem right now. Its been going on for 2 weeks. A deep stabbing burning pain on the outer ear that is unbearable. No sign of infection. My doctor seem to think it may be the nerve
