I am at the point where I was looking to get an exercise bike, but I saw elsewhere here where someone recommended a trainer. That is a good idea but I really don t know what to look for in buying one. I have a few questions about these.

Will they work with a mountain bike?
What is a good starter model?
What are the key things to look for in a trainer?

If you have one, what model do you have?

Thanks!!! :wavey:

The will work on a mountain bike, but it would be better to switch out the wheels to road tires. It will be quieter that way and won't wear out the MTB tires

I am using a Cycle-ops Mag Trainer. Retails for around 150-160 bucks. I like the mag trainers versus the fan trainers for the reduced noise factor
