I am 25 years old and I have big problems with my throat, I suffer from angina a lot. It usually starts as a benign viral infection that gets complicated with bacterial super infection. I have been to the doctor and he said that it would be for the best to remove my tonsilles. What is the healing time for tonsillectomy?

That procedure is quite common these days. In adults, it is well healed, just as with children, If there are no complications the regeneration process will be over in ten 10 days. Hygiene of the mouth after the procedure must be thoroughly kept and it would be better if the food is in form of fluids.

This is very common condition and for children and adults as well. And since you are having that big problems with your tonsils and your throat it would be wise to listen to your doctor and remove them. Of course you will have to go through the process of recovery. Also, if you are a smoker this could be a great way to get rid of that nasty habit. My best friend had tonsillectomy in June last year and before it he was smoking pack a day. After the surgery he couldn’t smoke for a few days (it was too much painful) so he has decided to stop.

I believe that you will recover very fast and that everything will be fine. keep us posted.
