My husband also has gone to a pain clinic for the last 10 years after sustaining serious injuries at a con struction site. These symptoms have never abated-they say he has a Chiari malformation.spinal disc damage, experiences sleep apnea, ringing in his head , and profound lethargy. the pain clinic prescribed oxycontin at first, but it was too expensive so he asked for something else. they prescribed percocet, methadone, Klonopin, and neurontin. Now after 10 years they inform him they can no longer take his Anthem-Healthkeepers insurance and wont see him or give him his medication. He is in Terrible pain and Although he made1 month's prescription last 2 mos. to wean off, withdrawal is so bad he can't function. He has been to two other doctors since being cut off and they refuse to help. In Virginia, unless you are terminally ill and dying, you can't hardly get pain meds. when you really needthem because they view everyone as potential drug addicts or drug-seeking individuals. My husband has never mis-used his meds and this is unfair. He hasn't hardly been able to get up for the pain and withdrawal. With his insurance what can he do? We have no money or there would be options we've already looked into. Thanks! %-)
