I was wondering which track workout is better for the mile. 8 to 10 400s at 70-72 sec with 2-3 min recovery or 2 sets of 6 400s w/ one hard (70-72 sec), the next easy (85-90 sec) and no rest in btwn 400s (they are nonstop so you go from one into the next) and a 2-3 min rest btwn sets.

Impossible to answer which is better.
It would depend on what stage you are with your training, and how close you are to your race.
I don't particularly like the 8/10 X 400m. I definitely don't like the other choice.
Having said that if your coach gave you that workout best you stick with him.
