Hi there. I'm the poster from just above you. I have been keeping an eye on the board just because I really feel for anyone in the same position.

sounds like you are in a heap of pain. I only had two bumps but they were extremely painful. I'm sorry your gyno has given you the diagnosis. I found it very helpful to lay in a warm bath with Epsom salts. Although mine was not herpes, it took the pain right out of the sores and helped to calm them down. I sat in the bath, listened to some podcasts for about 45 minutes. I tried to do this twice a day but at least once a day.

I did not sleep with knickers at night at found that helped too.

I am so sorry you are expecting bad news from your blood test results. Did the gyno seem 100% sure? Has she spoken with you about your sexual history and if it May be something else? My doc said it was very unlikely it would have laid dormant for so many years which gave me hope it was not herpes. He said if I had contracted it, it would have been in the last 6 months and I knew that was not possible so it helped me a little bit.

I barely slept or ate until I got my results, you must feel so upset and panicked right now. Try and watch a movie or listen to some music, take a nice bath and focus on your breathing. They seemed to be the only things that helped me calm down.

Have you spoken with your partner/boyfriend about it? Hopefully he can offer you some support too, anyone in the family you can call? Or just have pop over and sit with you?

Good luck with your results, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope for good news for you.

I am going through the same thing right now I am miserable and don't know what to do. I found a small flat sore and a small like slit that burns as well. I too have been worried what if it is herpes.

Hi

Sounds similar to what happened to me. Make sure you get to your doctor, although it is petrifying at least you will soon have an answer and not left wondering. Then you can get the appropriate treatment for whatever is going on.

Good luck keep us posted on how you go. Xo

I recently came off my period 4 days ago. My period last 5 days. On the 5th day which was a Thursday I wore a tampon. That Friday I noticed I start to pee more frequent. By Sunday my pee start to burn, unbearably. I usually soak in a bath after my period so that I won't feel icky if my boyfriend and I have sex. We had sex Saturday morning, Sunday he noticed yellow puss bumps on his penis (about 7). Monday we went to the doctor the first thing the doctor told us was Herpes for him and a UTI for me with out testing. I then went to the bathroom to pee in the cup and discovered the same yellowish puss bump (1 at the time, next day 3 in total). We are still waiting on the results but I honestly feel like I just have a UTI and a yeast infection and us having sex caused him to have a bacterial infection. We both get tested often because he is an athlete and have to travel so much our relationship could be considered long distance.

Hi,

Sounds really horrible. I don't know much about bacterial infections, can they spread to your partner like that? Sounds like you a pretty confident it isn't herpes. I mentioned a bit earlier that Epsom salt in the bath really helped me. Good luck with your results xo

A few days ago I started experiencing pain around my anal/genital area which felt like a rash, but looking at it, there was really nothing visible except some redness. On Tuesday, I went to the clinic to get checked out and the doctor also confirmed me thinking "it feels worse than it looks" he didn't see anything serious going on down there, however it had only been 2-3 days since I started developing symptoms. He took a swab test for HSV-2 anyway which I am waiting on right now. It was a really hot day and I had been up early to spend quite a bit of time walking outdoors and to go to the gym, and so after my day I came home and began developing flu-like symptoms like chills and a fever and a severe migraine - these symptoms didn't start going away until today (Thursday) but my boyfriend (we live together and share a bed) had also caught the flu last week so it's a possibility it could both be from him and the heat/being outdoors. The doctor recommended I buy OTC stuff for a yeast infection so I did and I had been applying it topically (on my bumps).

On Wednesday I started experiencing discharge - pink because I was just finishing my period but thick and runny almost like paint - not curd-like at all, but foul-smelling so I began to think I had BV. So I began inserting the OTC cream for yeast with the applicator.

Today (Thursday), my flu symptoms are close to none but I still feel a very slight itchiness and slight irritation around my genital area and am experiencing pretty severe slick, thick, pink discharge (I'm sure if I wasn't just finishing my period it would maybe be a greyish off-white color possibly. I'm thinking maybe it could be my vagina rejecting the cream possibly? Or is it really severe discharge? Anyway, would really like to hear opinions on what it could be.

I'm receiving the results for my swab test in 1-2 days, but really would just to talk to someone or receive some opinions/advice.

Hi Going Bananas

It doesn't sound like herpes as you do not have any sores? I'm not sure why they would test for herpes if there are no bumps/ulcers/sores? Is there a thing like that?

I am the poster a few up who came back negative but had a bad yeast infection which created 3 painful sores. I also had the flu at the same time, it seems it was just coincidence I got a chest infection at the same time! It could be the same for you too.

Thanks so much for your reply - didn't think I would get any back.

Unfortunately it is Herpes (HSV-2). My symptoms were ironic - they were exactly like HSV-2 symptoms and also not like it. I forgot to mention (stupidly, sorry!) that the day after I went to the clinic I began developing a few red bumps/sores around my genital area. I wish I could've had it come back negative and used this experience as a learning one, but unfortunately I wasn't given that chance.

The doctor said I was doing very well though, as I mentioned it was already getting better/I was already healing despite no medication thus far (only the topical cream to soothe me) and staying mentally strong. He said this would likely determine minimal/minor future outbreaks.

Hopefully this will help some people.

I ended up developing a yeast infection (knew it was from the start as the odor, texture & itchy feeling is what I've had before during a summer month - the humidity really gets to me). However, I did end up developing multiple sores that spread around my opening, lips & clit. I couldn't walk or pee or do anything except lay in bed for the first two days. Asked my bf to buy me vagisil for the itch & canestan for the yeast infection. It helped relieve the symptoms, but by the third day I was developing more sores. I went to the er & the doctor there took a look at it & clarified that it didn't look like herpes. He ended up giving me doxycycline (which ironically can cause a yeast infection..). He thought it may be a external yeast infection & bacterial infection.

I began taking it the same time I made an at home yeast infection remedy, which included: 1 tbsp of coconut oil (liquified), five drop of tea tree oil & seven drops of lavender oil. This began to soothe it immediately..the relief..I put it externally & also internally with a small tampon.

In the end, I can't say what it was. I did a culture test at my gyno five days later as that was the earliest appointment I could get. I was cleared of chlam & ghn. The sores were mostly healed by then expect for a few (the did not blister) so my gyno could not tell if it was herpes or not, although it certainly did not heal like herpes would. I have my appointment in a few days time again to see my results. Will post back soon. Take care ladies. -N.

Thank you so much. So I just got a call from the doctors both me and my partner herpes test came back negative. We got tested for herpes 1 and 2. I did how ever have a UTI, Yeast infection, and a bacterial infection. I am so happy! To be extra careful I have an appointment with my Primary care tomorrow morning and my obgyn next week. To the people who are going through the wait, please do not dwell on it. It will not be easy but keep yourself busy until the results come or else you will drive yourself crazy!

I read every comment on this thread & its the only thing that gave me hope & calmed my nerves during my situation so i wanted to share my experience as well for those old & new to this thread. Im dating a new guy & we started having sex almost a month ago. (Unprotected- he said he was recently tested & clean but im dumb...i know) The last time we had sex was mon 8/21 & it was a few vigorous rounds & a lil rough. 2 days later on wed 8/23 i felt a slight sting in the morning when I used the bathroom so i looked & saw 1 small "legion" that maybe looked like what others have described as the bottom of an octopus tentacle. I immediately freaked & my mind raced straight to herpes. I had no other "typical" symptoms like pain urinating, flu symptoms, painful lymph nodes, clusters of blisters or legions, itching, discharge etc. The only thing was that small spot which if i hadnt looked i wouldnt even know. But like all the herpes research said alot of people have lil to no symptoms so i still wanted to be checked. So i was in an express clinic by 12:30pm that same day lol The dr looked & he said he was sure it wasnt herpes & would be very suprised if my results came back positive as he believed it was just a tear (fissure) from the sex. (Id also like to add before this partner i havnt had sex in 4 yrs so my lady parts were prob just getting used to having a sex life again & i was overdoing it lol) Anyway, he did a swab. (All the herpes research i did said best time to get the most accurate results from a swab test is within 48hrs of a fresh sore & i got mine within hours) I went home & started applying pretty much anything i had (witch hazel, neosporin, hydrocortisone, vitamin e oil) to the area. 3 days later by sat 8/24 the sore was basically gone which also gave me hope because from research herpes is a virus so something like neosporin wouldnt be able to clear it up but my ointments did. Sunday 8/25 i finally got a call back from the clinic who informed me i tested NEGATIVE for herpes, bv, & i think they said something else. But in all my research i read about the false negatives & false positives people can get from swab test & blood test so in 3 months im going to also get a blood test to be sure & keep an eye out for any other "appearances". Right after i got my results i told my parter & advised him we were dumb to not use protection so id like him to be tested for everything as well & for us to start using protection until his results or til i do the blood test in 3 months. (Im on depo so pregnancy isnt an issue on my mind) I would like to note 7 yrs ago almost exact same thing happened to me. I saw "something" after sex & went to gyno who looked & immediately said it wasnt herpes but swab & blood tested me which both came back negative. So im not sure what happening down there but i am going to be more aware of how I'm having sex & making sure im lubricated enough to avoid tears/irritation. So long story short...i hope my experience helps calm someones nerves the way mine were calmed reading this thread. Im praying my negative swab is accurate but only time will tell & my eventual blood test in a few months. Goodluck to everyone!

So pleased to find this site, and read these posts. I have been sore, in pain and had fever and chills all over the holiday weekend but worried to death about what it could be. Hope to get some relief at the doctors tomorrow or the next day. By the way I've been getting in the shower to pee!

Why did I wait a week to use tea tree oil!! It is amazing, sores that were open this morning are now showing signs of healing.

The over the counter creams didn't help just seem to make everything permanently moist and then sore. At night I have used baby powder to keep things as dry as possible.
