Hi everyone, I have a 14month old boy who since April has had sudden outburst of extreme screaming and sobbing as if he is in severe pain it began of a night time, when he suddenly woke after being asleep over 6hrs screaming and sobbing, It took me a while to console him and I was very scared as I didn't know what the hell was wrong with him, it happened again the next night and the night after, he also had black poo in this time...the hospital thought it was gastritis and gave him ranitidine for a month but in this time he had yet another episode of screaming in the night and the next morning his poo again was black, i took him back down only to be told he looked fine and his Obs were all good so to keep an eye on him...it has happened a few more times in the last 5 months and it happened during the day too, I have yet again been in hospital with him as he started again only his poo wasn't black just crying, whining, clingy, screaming on occasions....he has no temp, no vomiting, no other symptoms. Another doc said constipation but my son has between 2-3 poos a day, which are soft and normal he doesn't strain nor does he have any symptom of being constipated, they then tried to suggest I remove all dairy from his diet... But again shows no other symptoms of being dairy intolerant ( I have a daughter with dairy intolerance so I know) the consultant was rude and obnoxious because I asked him to prove medically my son had an allergy to cows milk to which he refused and said if your not going to take my advice then you may as well go home. My son had an X-ray it showed he had poo in his bowels...the following day he had ultra sound there was no poo and they said it was normal, and there isn't anything they can do, this was told to me by a nurse as the doc refused to see me..I've been up to this hospital 6-7 times regarding this issue and I see a different doc on duty each time and they all say different things but nothings ever done or worked...I'm at a loose end with it all I just want answers and for a doc to actually listen to me and not presume he has something without properly investigating it...I am currently making a formal complaint against my sons treatment whilst having a blood test there...it was like torture to a baby and in the end both myself and my husband screamed at them to stop, I have pictures where they left his tiny arm bruised from force and used no numbing cream before forcing a canular into his wrist, which they did wrong as they didn't get any blood out. I don't know where to go from here, I'd happily pay to see a private paediatrician to get this sorted for my baby but can't find one near me, he is my third baby so it's not like he is my first and I'm just panicking, I just know something isn't right
