HI,
Tonight will be three weeks! I am back to work this week. VERY tired and feel strained, some pressure down there but I think that is because I stand a lot at work. Sitting is okay, a little uncomfortable.
BM also giving me some issues. Some days I am in there 3x day so I get sore, no real pain but not back to my old self. I stopped the stool softeners because I was going to much. So I am on my regular diet and no meds except if I need the advil but slowed down on that too.
I go back to the dr in 2 weeks again. If they dont come back this was SOOOO worth it. Like I said before, it is suregery and you need to give your body time to heal. Everyone is different but comparing to some other people we are right around the same recovery...give or take a week. Once you get off the pain meds (try bath and advil and go back to bed instead of taking pain pills if you can....) then you can start getting back to your regular routines. I loved the pain pills but it kept me in a fog, which was good the first couple of days/week.
Good luck to everyone...thanks for responding. It is good to read other stories.

Hi Ocean! Its really good to hear that you are healing so quickly! I actually wrote a post of my own but mine was really addressing for people who are not healing as quickly as others and they should really think about having this surgery performed before just going ahead and doing it, thinking they will be back to normal in 2 weeks.... I still am not able to completely get off of my percocets yet and I just wanted to share with others that they are not alone in their healing process... Like we both said before, it depends on your individual bodies on how quickly you heal... I have actually read that some people did not fully recover from this for 8-10 weeks. I have not been able to see my doctor yet.. He wanted to see me 2 weeks post op but the office was booked up and can't get me in until next week, which will be more like 4 weeks post op... It just seems like one day I will feel so much better and have more energy, then the next day, will feel weak and have hard BM's with severe pain... But I guess a lot of other people had mentioned this as well... I'm happy you are able to go back to work though. I wish I could but I know I'm not able to right now. I also do a lot of standing and a lot of heavy lifting, so I'm going to wait until I fully recover before I go back. Taking care of my 3 little one's is hard enough... But I'm happy they are back home, I sure missed them... Again, I'm glad you are feeling so much better... I'm sure I will too soon.. Hopefully I'm right behind ya..... Take care and keep me updated!!!! :-D
