I think you just experienced some breakthrough bleeding because intercourse caused some irritation to the inside walls of your vagina or your cervix. Having sex at the first trimester of pregnancy should not be any reason for concern for you or your baby’s safety, but still you should be careful to avoid similar irritations which could make your vaginal area more vulnerable to infections which would then become a risk. You should always feel free to ask your Ob-gyn about all these questions – he/she is the one who knows your complete medical history.
