My daughter just turned 3 years old. She was prescribed Loratadine (generic Claritin) 2x a day, when she was 2. Last week the doctor prescribed her Diphenhydramine (generic Benedryl) 3x a day and Robitussin for a runny rose (with green mucus). I have given her the Diphenhydramine and the Claritin, but not the Robitussin because a previous pediatrician informed me that cough syrup was not really effective for my daughter's age group. Is this combination safe for my 3 year old?
