hi I am 44 years old and have always suffered from headaches. I have been on anti depressants on and off for quite a few years and doctors have always put my headaches down to stress. (understandable it comes with the illness) Recently however, I am having unbearable headaches that are at the top of my head and at the base of my neck. I dont feel sick with it and they seem to occur when I am looking down EG/ reading, cooking, cleaning etc
my eyesight has been tested and I need reading glasses. So this has been eliminated.
I usually take 3 annadin extra and lie down. The strange thing is my head does not ache when I am lying down.

To be honest, it sounds to me like what you are dealing with could be a depression headache, but it sounds more like to me that it's stress. Top of the head and back of the neck are both common stress points--you are likely tensing your muscles there. I think a good strategy might be to see a massage therapist to have them take care of it. What do you think?
