Abdominal pain, bloating, and rapid weight gain- NOT PMS!

I am 47 years old and have been experiencing this for about 6 months now. I started gaining weight like crazy I use to weight 112 lbs now i am at 122 lbs. I started off slow and did not really notice, but in the last month I put on 6 lbs. I have not changed the way I eat so there should not be an increase in weight. I have the severe bloating and pain on my left side that travels around to my back right under the rib cage, and of course the constipation then regular bowel movements . It kind of feels like a pulled muscle or a bruised vein. I have had my thyroid check and a cat scan done everything is normal. I do not have female problems they have been removed. My doctor said women my age just get fat. I have never been fat in my entire life. I have even lost my energy to exercise i am fatigued all the time. Please can someone help, I really need some answers. Thank you all for all the responses very helpful.

I have had the same issue since A;pril and I no longer have my monthly and the doctors still have not figured out what the issue is. I have been on fluid pills since april as well. Still all bloated look like I am ready to have twins any time :(

It sounds like all the symptoms of a hiatal hernia. Drs. miss those all the time but I have one it is quite problematic...symptoms like yours.

It could be a number of things like endometriosis and adhesions. My bowels are not working, and i've gained alot of water weight , and my belly is very hard with tightness, and low back pain. Some doctors take me seriously, and some don't take me serious at all, but my symptoms are painful, and very real, plus i can't pass my bowels, or hardly urinate...lt is so disgusting living like this!!

Ok, here goes.

Bottom test was fine.

Gluten test no issue.

CT scan showed nothing. She had to drink 3 16oz bottles and by the 2nd bottle she was on the toilet. Results showed she didn't have enough contrast for the CT. All is fine.

GI Dr. Felt her stomach and referred to surgeon. Possible hernia

Gyn Dr. Nothing wrong with female parts.

Nothing adds up

I have also experienced the dramatic bloating in my abdomen with severe pain and 2-5 lbs wt gain overnight. When the bloating subsides, the wt gain vanishes. I appeared 8mo.pregnant, which, in my case Is impossible. I went to a gastroenterologist and had many tests including fluid retention as a possible cause . All tests were normal. Then I did my own research and found IBS may be responsible. I also have Multiple Sclerosis which compounds the severity of my bloating symptoms. I have discovered, that eating very small meals helps to prevent the bloating. Does anyone also have the temp wt gain? Does anyone also have MS?

I researched and had doctors confirm with tests that:
1) not IBS, both large and small intestines normal.
2) not ovarian cancer.
3) not hernia
4) not MS

HIDA scan of gallbladder showed below normal operation (roughly 20%). You could actually see her tummy swell when the technician started the procedure to empty her gallbladder. She said this was the same type of bloating she has had for six months. I'm glad the HIDA scan was scheduled. It really shows you exactly how the gallbladder is or isn't working. Surgery scheduled for 12/7. She is so ready for it to be removed.

Do you have the mirena iud? Those are side effects from that iud I have them too if not go to the doctor

im having the same thing stomach pains,sharp pains,bloating,weight gain and i even pee more and miss my period i look like im a few months pregnant but dont know if iam pregnant.

I do not have an IUD. I had the 'old school' IUD, 25 yrs ago.

It's sad because I'm glad that so many other women are having. the same issue. Validation, if nothing else. The best advice I've gotten here is the HIDA scan of the gallbladder. I have not seen my Dr. about the HIDA scan yet. Completing matters, in my case, is that these symptoms mirror the 'MS Hug'. I have MS, so discerning between MS and gallbladder becomes difficult. However these are NOT symptoms that diagnose MS. The symptoms are merely complicated BY MS.

Ok I gained 10 pounds in 7 days....and my tummy is huge and a bit hard...what the bleep is going on?

I had a hysterectomy 24 years ago and I have been having this pain in my stomach for several months, my stomach looks like i'm prego and i feel like it too.It hurts like hell and feels like pins i have been having stools 6xs a day the past week and I am so scared.. anyone know anything about this> i have no periods would that charcoal work for me? anyone know?

Pretty much over night feeling I have gained 10 pounds.  I am bloated every where and look like I'm pregant but can't be.  My body hurts all over, like sore muscles from working out or something.  I'm concerned.  I have never had this before.  I have been having problems with stomach since May but was loosing weight due to it and now seems to have changed completely the other way.  It hurts to touch my stomach and any where on my body really.  Feels like I got beat up or something.  My feet are even swollen and have lines where my socks were.  Does anyone have any clue what might be going on????  I'm down right scared now.  I have never had a weight problem, maybe feel a little bloated before my period but nothing like this!  I cant fit into my jeans I just had on a few days ago!!   Has anyone else had this go on?????  Please help!
